Question on storing rom packs.
« on: November 15, 2016, 04:53 PM »
So, how many roms can you store in a single folder before SD2SNES doesn't read the rest of them? I'm trying to make folders for the whole collection.

I don't know the exact number but I'm going to say a lot. I have the entire USA collection of roms no duplicates in a single folder and it loads up just fine in an instant. That's over 700 roms in one folder.  My Japanese roms are close to a thousand and they have there own folder as well. I hope this helps at all If not sorry for the intrusion.
All I wanna do is shred.

I have the entire No-Intro romset loaded on my SD. While no single folder holds over 700+ titles like EpicDave's setup, there hasn't been any issues with loading games or folders. Things are so smooth I didn't even think about limits on folder content ;-)

The technical limit for entries per folder is 16382 but I wouldn't recommend it because sorting will take a long time ;)
