Would be awesome, but the card games already work with the MED.

SG-1000 games, though. Fun!

I imagine it would be difficult to fit all the required hardware into such a small form factor, but I could be wrong.

I have a master system with a broken cartridge slot, I'd be in for a card slot version lol.  I'm just curious if all the master system games would play just the same from card or cartridge or if the cartridge slot had access to more options.

Card games already play via MasterED so not sure what the point.
Also the card slot is limited (not all the signals are there) so mostly only card games would work (the bigger cartridge games would not work).
Finally the card is wired in a different I/O CS wire and depending on how the game treat a special location after start it may not work (we had a glimpse of that with the Jap SMS Exp port, from which without a HW mod you cannot play all cart games because of the same reason .... there's 3 possible ways to play on an SMS, the cart slot, the card slot and the exp slot and each uses a different I/O CS signal, some games hard-code it [mostly cartridges so it's rare to see its effect at all] and they don't work from other connections).

tl;dr;
no point as the card slot doesn't have all signals to support bigger games, and you may need a HW mod to make some games work, anyway here are the pinouts:

I tend to agree with those dissenting voices here.  On the basis that

1) The card games already play on MED, so no features are added.
2) All Master Systems can therefore already play card games.
3) The card games are small in number and not very popular.

Of all the flashcart improvement projects I can think of (and of all the missing features and game-breaking glitches on existing flashcarts), this seems way, way off in the distance, as far as what would actually justify the work.
