Griffey Jr Presents MLB glitches upon starting season...what's wrong?

I was just redoing the rosters on Ken Griffey Jr Presents MLB and I tried to start a new season and the game glitched/crashed...what's wrong?

It might be a game bug. It doesn't calculate a SaveRAM checksum reliably. I got this patch from devinacker and it mentions that game:

I am currently preparing the v0.1.7e fix release, which is long overdue but it will contain the fix.
You will need to delete your Griffey Jr SRM file manually from sd2snes/saves so it takes effect.

What else will this latest update fix/update? I also can't seem to get any of the BS-X Zeldas to work right either
I guess the great thing about SD2SNES is that what few flaws it does have in compatibility can easily be fixed via software update.
