Save Zelda Link's Awakning

Hello, I have a problem with the game Zelda Link's Awakning, I use a 2008 version of Goomba, my problem is that I can not backup in this game, so I start the game, history, I just backup After Tarkin gives me the shield so I save the game with A, B + Start, Select, I turn off the console, I turn it on, I run Zelda, and the more nothing backup, on cartridge I know it There was this problem of stack but it is a rom with emulator, so I ask for your help. Thanks

Nothing happens when I go into the menu and I press A on the save state options  :-\

try with goomba 2014

I would use Goomba 2014 and then save in game and press l and r then exit before turning of the GBA.
