I love the everdrive 64 I have the 2.5 and 3 however also wanted save states I wouldn't actually mind buying another everdrive for my 64 if had this feature also box art would be good.

implementing save states is very complicated.
this is a requested feature since years, but the problem is, the n64 system design is quite different compared to the classic systems.
if the game is running, pressed buttons aren't on some memory register, the pif has to be polled by the game engine for inputs. (that's why there is no reset combo) (some replacement DACs have this feature)

the only thing that might be possible is a complicated attached polled routine like the gscore.
such a program might be able to copy the rdram content to some cartspace. ^^
but you can only inject so much code until the performance of the game starts to suffer. :>
