Question Regarding NES Emulation On GBA
« on: September 21, 2017, 07:05 AM »
How well does it work?

How long are load times?

Are there options for aspect ratio adjustment? Do they work correctly?

Load times are as fast as any small GBA games.

Yes you can change the aspect ratio, but remember that a GBA screen is 240x160 and NES games are 256x240 so it's never perfect.

There are interesting modes where you can scale just the background but leave the sprites regular size, so squishing is less noticeable, but you really need to try all of the modes with each game to see which one you like the best.

You'll notice similar issues with the officially ported Classic NES Series games, which are ultimately just NES roms running on an emulator too. Though at least when you're using the Everdrive's NES support you'll have more options on how the game looks/plays as PocketNES is a pretty good emulator.
