Is it possible to mod original x7 to rev.B?

I’ve noticed there is new version of x7 come out,fixed gbp problem.is it possible to update the original one or any way we can mod it by ourself?

I think it will feel better instead to buy a new one....

Damm. whats the problem. I got rev a from stoneage gamer. I didn't know. I only went the stone age gamer cuz i wanted other stuff. I don't care about gameboy pocket anyways. but i hear people still can get it to work.

First of all I'd like to mention that Game Boy Pockets cannot run only some EverDrive GB X rev.A.
It happens because Game Boy Pockets themselves have a power supply issue (comparing to all other Game Boys).
They cannot supply enough energy to EverDrive GB X rev.A.
However even though EverDrive GB X rev.A may work with Game Boy Pockets but one has to turn on/off the console few times to start it up.
In EverDrive GB X rev.B we fixed the power supply issue.

If anyone who has bought EverDrive GB X in August 2017 (or pre-ordered before the release) has such a problem with Game Boy Pocket then please contact us using the contact form of the store.

When battery are low, I have a black logo or white screen at startup with my Game Boy DMG and GB X7.
Is this the same known problem with Game Boy Pocket ?
Will Rev B fix this ?

When the battery is low you still can play the standard cartridges but your EverDrive shows the black logo or white screen?
How long can you play the standard cartridges after the battery is so low that your EverDrive stops to work?

Yes, it is exactly that ! I can still play my original Tetris Cartridge while GBX7 show white screen or black logo.
I didn't tried to play more and now my batteries are full so I can't say how many time I could have play more with Tetris...
The red power light was low. And it is Ni-MH rechergable batteries.

I've found out you can get the REV A to work with any GBP by doing the 5V regulator mod following these instructions

and cutting pin 6 ( 5V VDD ) from daughter to mainboard

I'm able to get my rev A to boot every time and also am able to flash roms!

this is including a backlight and bivert mod

I used a solder sucker to suck the solder out, then used my soldering iron on a really hot setting to heat up the pin to the point it pushed through the plastic that was holding it in(you might be able to get away with using flush cuts to cut away the pin between the boards). after i used a multimeter to check there was no continuity left between the daughter board and the main board.

1. Sell Rev.A to anyone who doesn't use Game Boy Pocket
2. Buy Rev.B.
