Everdrive 64 possibly defective
« on: May 04, 2013, 12:12 AM »
I just received an ED64. I am getting the error message that the os can't be found on the sd card. I've tried fat32 and fat16. I've tried multiple microsd cards that work fine in the computer. I've tried renaming the ED64 folder in the root directory. I've tried using an older OS. None of these attempts have worked. When I power on the ed64 the red light comes on, flashes brighter for about half a second, the light turns off and the error message is then displayed on screen. Any thoughts on this or is it a defective unit? I'm going to try purchasing a standard sd card today to see if it's an incompatability issue. Thanks for your help.

-Jon

Make sure you don't put anything in the 'volume label ' when formatting the card.
Don't use an older OS.
Don't rename the'ED64' folder
Don't use zipped roms.

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know the issue has been fixed.  It was the microsd cards.  I got an Ultra Sandisk 8gb and it works perfectly.  Thanks for your help!

I´m very Worried.
Please ¿any suggestion?
By the way ¿Which are the folders that the sd has to have? I can see on some pictures, ed64, roms, and wallpapers ???

My pcb is v2.01 (13.02.2012)

Hi Guys!

I´m from Brazil, and I have the same problem that the User RetrOS.

Everdrive 64 is V2 US
My Console is N64 US too.
Bootloader V3

I user mini SDcard 8GB samsung Original with SD adapter. (maybe that´s the problem I think)

I´ve created in the SD root:

ED64 (folder with the last OS64.v64) version 1.29
For test, just few roms, like Zelda OOT, Mario Kart 64 and PaperMario 64

Appears a black Screen too.

Krikzz, can you help us about this issue?

Did you two above me miss this post? I'm no expert since my ed64 hasn't even arrived yet due to the time I was going to order it and it went out of stock, but it seems like you two are having the same issue as the OP. I would try buying a new SD Card.

It was a problem with the SD Slot inside. The SD card doesnt connect correctly because the SD Slot was witjh a wrong contact.

I´ve been solved the problem, and now is working everything normally, even with the mini SD Adapters.

Thanks for the Support.

Krikzz.. Thank you too to made this wonderfull project.
