Some games will not boot

Hello everyone.   I have an issue that I hope you all can help me with.  I recently purchased the GBA Everdrive X5.  I downloaded the latest firmware from here, put it in the root of a freshly formatted micro SD, put my roms in the root, however some games are simply not booting.   Zelda: The Minish Cap and all the Pokémon games particularly.   Maybe there is some simple issue I'm overlooking, but I cannot get them to work.  I select them in the menu and when it's about to start, I get a black screen instead.  I've tried quick boot on and off with no luck.  Am I missing something here?

Use clean no-intro roms

They are, and they work on my Raspberry Pi just fine.

post md5's for ones that dont work plez

Try putting your roms into folders, not the root of your SD card.
Test using another SD card.

Forgot to mention the ROMs are in folders and I tried a different Micro SD card with no luck.  Here are the MD5s for a couple of games that won't work for me.

They're all designated 'U' so I guess North America.  Not really sure though or if there's a different way to differentiate.
