You are awesome Krikzz, this is the best update I've seen in years!

Has anyone tested it with the AVS? I might not be able to test it myself for a few days.

Things I noticed playing quick. The options menu (select) is a slow to draw.  Also there are graphical glitches in the beginning of the Japanese version of Castlevania 3 that weren't there before.

There were some graphical glitches in mapper 99 games like Vs. Excitebike (NES hack) and Vs. Stroke and Match Golf set on freeplay (which works with the correct colors) that weren't there before (on both AV Famicom and AVS).

edit: I did notice some artifacts on AVS, but only in the menus, not in game.

FDS audio in "Ai Senshi Nicol" is way off, out of tune and envelope is not behaving correctly.

Here are few examples how it should sound:

Also, FDS "Zelda no Densetsu", title screen disappears too fast.
Seems like something presses start automatically.

I experience that too.
Also there are Disk IO read errors, and initial N8 boot is slower.

Thank you krikzz!

Bug report:

Frequent Disk I/O Errors while scrolling down the menu after first boot, then randomly while quitting an FDS game or changing ED options.
Gradius AC graphics are now broken (Mapper 4 - Nintendo MMC3 Chipset / MMC3 - T(x)ROM / MMC6 - H(x)ROM)
FDS expansion audio is off-key.

I confirm all the above.

I find the most stable results with SD when it is formatted with FAT32, 4096 bytes Allocation Size Unit.

When resetting after FDS game, the N8 writes to the SD card and it corrupts the file system.
Happens much less with 4Kb ASU.

Also one of my new SDHC cards started working in the ED64 v3 with 4Kb ASU but nothing above 4kb.
This might give krikzz a clue how to fix his file system read/write to be more compatible.

I must also add that it is amazing that all mappers now support save state!

Some games w/ new update work now good, like Lagrange Point, but FDS games w/ sound chip not close enough to accurate result.

I got nearly constant Disk IO Error 62 sometimes if I changed the Reset to Game option.  A reboot of the console made the error go away.

If the Reset to Game option is On, I can't seem to return to the menu no matter how long I hold down the reset button.

The LED seems to be permanently on now, although the brightness fluctuates depending on what the cart is doing.

MMC5 is majorly improved in the graphics department, but strangely enough the expansion audio support that was in the previous mapper is gone.

Krikzz, I forgot to ask you to please integrate the VRC6 and Sunsoft Gimmick audio improvements posted on this very forum. This + Mapper 4 fix + MMC5 audio back to previous firmware levels would make the N8 the ultimate flashcart. Thanks!

So far it works great! Thanks Krikzz.   Can I request a change on how the fds switches sides or auto loads.  Make it so I can do with the controller manually?  So I can watch full intros...  thanks!

Many thanks . You are the best !

all the same - I have to report a couple of events:

stopped playing games
-Akumajou Densetsu
-Esper Dream 2
-Madara /// i.e. games with mappers 24
... in Mapper 5 (MMC5) there are suspicions - that the additional channel of sound disappeared ... example - Metal Slader Glory - there is no soundtrack of the voices of the characters ...

I ask you to consider these nuances in the future ...

as well - previously there was a function in the OS:
-if you quickly press RESET - just restarted the rum, and if - 2-3 seconds - returned to the OS menu. now this moment does not work.

That's a disappointment.  Granted, this is a beta version which is why all the bugs are here.  I just hope that the ability to manually flip disk sides instead of having the Everdrive automatically do it for you is implemented.  Something like "Select+Start" on controller two would work fine since the Famicom never had start and select on controller two.  Without the ability to manually switch, it is impossible to view the full introduction in games such as Doki Doki Panic.

Are these FDS images with header? On previous OSes, the header was deleted and image was corrupted after playing a FDS image with a header once. I was hoping this would be fixed.
