in any case: I sincerely thank you! Thank you! game Gimmick! became delightfully reproduced. many games that hang - gray screen - began to come to life and are waiting for our passage. so - now your cartridge can play multiple "Multicardridge" sets (except for - exceeding the PRG / CHR memory limits)

Errors start 1:28 into this video, all the information is in the description.

1. try to use fat32 if you use FAT(FAT16)
2. i wonder if something change if you will not put multiple files in root directory. Put all your games in "ROM" folder, so in root will be only two dirs ROM and EDFC

That's interesting.  I have never seemed to have had any real I/O issues or errors with my SD card, and I've got my root folder only containing EDFC and ROM.  The ROM folder is then broken down into separate folders to reduce the amount of files in each directory.  I also make sure that when formatting it in FAT32 that I choose the largest unit allocation size possible in the drop down menu.  This might help reduce issues caused by file fragmentation since larger allocation unit sizes results in fewer data "fragments" on the drive.

Not sure if those are why I myself haven't run into any issues?

anyone, check out these games:
 1. Esper Dream 2
2.Mourou Senki Madara ...
 unlike Akumajou Densetsu (24 mapper) - the other two use 26 mappers. on these two - there are no sound channels - completely ... I've already tried all the standard methods (FORMATTING OS, separately downloaded rum ...) apparently you missed them and forgot to add to Mapper 26 - support for VRC6 ... check, I ask you.
Right, i forget to link mapper 26 to vrc6 volume control. will fix it

I was using FAT32 and I tried a full reformat and using only ROMS and EDFC in the root directory, no change.  I am going to buy a Sandisk microSD card tomorrow to see if there is any improvement.

What kinds of microSD card do people use that do not have difficulty?  A discord user suggested a Sandisk Class 10 8GB card.

I have a Sandisk class 4 8gb micro sd card (famicom n8 version, cant use full size sd) that is giving nothing but different OS INIT errors with any version higher than v16.

Formatted multiple times with different allocations sizes, no luck.

Sometimes I get a menu to pop up with OS INIT still on the screen:
options are: cancel, file to sram, sram to file, but then it freezes up.

I'm using a Kingston card now in my ED N8 Famicom, and an identical card has been rock solid in my GB ED.

I get the same errors if I use a Famicom or a NES Front Loader (with adapter)

I'm actually using a MicroSD card, a Transcend 4GB, in a SanDisk adapter.  Works okay other than my quirky method to get the update to "take".

Just out of curiosity, can anyone get the fan translation of Shinsenden to work on real hardware?  I noticed that the readme notes that there was a weird way they had to implement the text display, so I don't know if it's actually an issue with the EDN8, or one of the hack itself.

i will make a video in the weekend krikkz,but my card is setup like you said,fat32-2 dirs-edfc and roms,i use smokemonster packs.
I have no clue why it worked fine with v16 and with this version it errors out while browsing my roms.

How many ROMS do you have in there?  i wonder if it worked fine in v16 because the Everdrive was able to handle that large number of files, but with more code added and other stuff put in, the OS can't handle that large number of files and crashes out.

If you try it with the number of ROMS in each folder no greater than 200, does it then work?

@KRIKzz

The pitch of FDS audio is now correct, but there is still problems with envelope effect which bends/vibrates notes.
When a game uses envelope effect to alter the pitch of the note it will sound wrong.

I recorded an example of Nestopia vs AVFamicom+RC1 (1.4MB).
*This audio is from Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa first level when you take the "Bell" power up.

@KRIKzz

As for volume steps;
16 multiplier may be too much, if you keep the 8 multiplier please include all master-vol steps without skipping from 8/4 to 8/20 (200% to 40%) for more accurate tuning because I find around 50% region there are too big jumps in volume for FDS and MMC5 on the AV Famicom.

Maybe if you buy a cheapest generic SD card with no brand you could reproduce the errors?

Is it only me, or RC1 is really bugged for advanced mappers?
Lagrange Point crashes a lot, Laser Invasion crashes after start sequence, MMC5 demos throwing mapper errors.

LoL

If that would be the case.
 Wouldn't be a better alternative getting a better SD card?
