RC1-3 and 5-7 are unusable on all of my AV Famicoms. RC4 works though.

That's interesting.
RC5 is more stable on my unmodded AV Famicom. It's very rare to see any kind of error.
All others RC's doesn't work.

Interesting. My 3 AV Famicoms are all RGB modded with the Tim Worthington board.

The only logical answer is our N8 differ from one another, not the famicoms.
Since all the famicoms in my posession work with my N8, while all the famicoms in your posession do not work with your N8.
As said, it is most probably the N8 differ not the famicoms.

If I would have to guess, I would say the RAM chips on the N8 slightly differ thus the variations in the N8 performance.
What else could make a single N8 not work on ALL your/my famicoms?
Mega Everdrive x5, Everdrive 64 v3, Everdrive N8, SD2SNES, Joyzz.

Famicom different revisions, perhaps?

Let me try it again;

I have 3 different revision famicoms, where my N8 works on ALL of them just fine.
George has 4 different revision famicoms, but his N8 has problems on ALL of them.

What is the common problematic device?
Mega Everdrive x5, Everdrive 64 v3, Everdrive N8, SD2SNES, Joyzz.

Actually, I'm not sure that's the case.  I've got three front-loading NES systems.  Two of them experience the glitches I posted about a while back with Ultima IV, for instance, when on RC5-7, but not on RC4.  But one of the systems (my original childhood one) works just fine with RC6 without the glitch.  There are clearly some edge cases and small differences between systems that are causing issues for some and not others.  I'd be really interested to see if there are any CPU/PPU differences in my systems, or perhaps it's just age catching up to them.

Also, the AV Famicom and AVS have no SD errors with the Everdrive betas, but the top loading NES with adapter does. This is after multiple reformats. Also, on AVS firmware 1.30 final, the Everdrive had similar SD issues in PAL mode, but not in NTSC. AVS firmware 1.30 beta 5 is fine in PAL mode with the Everdrive betas.

I also have a front loading NES, but the everdrive doesn't fit with the adapter, so I wasn't able to test it.

Can someone who is having problems with famicom av and n8 tell me their OS version and rom name so I can  test my famicom cart n8 with my famicom av (hdmi modded).  PM me if you want, willing to help bring a conclusion to this famicom av or n8 problem.

Have you tried it on the AVS? MMC3 was tweaked and MMC3 games crash on AVS.

Nope I'm playing on an AV modded Famicom. I got my N8 about 6 months ago, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Just noticed this. Has anyone been getting disk io errors on a blinking light win mod using any of the v.20 releases. v16 works flawless. Standard tray v.20 works fine except RC7 which will not boot period. Power Pak works regardless.

To be honest, I do not recall the last revision I tested. I kinda threw in the towel on this update. I should try the very latest one but didn't bother yet since it does not seem to fix those issues according to the different post from peoples.

Is this update actually going to happen because it has been ages since the last beta and we still have lots of issues that need sorting out? I feel like getting this update fixed and released should be a priority at this point. I understand it isn't easy to do but I think this needs doing more before releasing new products.
