SD2SNES Error Message /sd2snes/menu.bin not found
« on: August 25, 2018, 11:56 PM »
Hello, I just recently tried to play games on my SD2SNES that I had recently purchased and I keep getting a error message that says /sd2snes/menu.bin not found. It doesn't allow me to play games on it and I don't know what to do. I have the v1.8.0 software copied on the root of SDHC Card titled SD2SNES v1.8.0. Inside that folder it contains the files bsxbios.bin, bsxpage.bin, cx4.bin, dsp1.bin, dsp1b.bin, dsp2.bin, dsp3.bin, dsp4.bin, firmware, fpga_base.bit fpga_cx4.bit, fpga_gsu.bit, fpag_obc1.bit, menu.bin, sgb.boot.rom, st010.bin, st011.bin, st018.bin. I used formatting programs such as RMPrepUSB, SmartDisk Fat32 Tool, and EaseUS Partition Master Software. However, nothing seems to work. Please help!  :-[

In the root of your sdcard should be a dir named sd2snes.
Then download this: https://github.com/RedGuyyyy/sd2snes/releases/download/sa1_v06/sd2snes_sa1_v06.zip
Unzip it over the sd2snes dir in the root of your sdcard.

Would it be something like this http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k111/dannyboy907/SD2SNES%20Krikzz%20Problem_zpsfmyid5vn.jpg
To just dump the SD2SNES v1.8.0 firmware and files in the main directory without putting it in a folder

All of the files from "bsxbios.bin" down to "st018.bin" need to be put into a folder on the root of the SD card called "sd2snes".

After placing the firmwares and everything else in the sd2snes folder

Can I just download a rom from a website and expect to play it on the SD2SNES?

OR

Am I expected to convert each rom after downloading it like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAOFGzEhNRk

and separate it into folders like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmKxsOXDtf4

I'm very confused with these MSU1 Packs. Is the MSU1 Packs just for better audio? Or is it necessary conversion to play the games

MSU1 games are for enhanced audio and FMV only, yes. You can play standard ROM's without them just fine.

Just make sure that your ROM's are unzipped if you want to play them. SNES ROM's generally have .sfc and .smc file extensions. You can place them anywhere on your card and navigate to them within the UI.
