I take it this doesn't support special chip games like SA-1 and SuperFX? It's just like the "old" Super Everdrive but with instant loading, right?

No, X5 does not have large FPGA resources, so it can't play games which used enhancement chips. For hard work you need SD2SNES (:

i wish there was a way to get the Super Everdrive to use a "donor" cart. AFAIK, Action Replay used a similar system on the SNES to play out of region games. It would have a second slot in the back to plug in any game of your region.

I wonder if SuperEverdrive could use something similar, you'd plug in a SuperFX game to play any other SFX game or any SA-1 game to play any other SA-1 Title.

Doesnt the n8 already support instant loading? The old super everdrive had the write screen and all.. the n8 doesnt
Everdrives I own:
Mega Everdrive V2 (same as Mega everdrive X7), Everdrive N8 Famicom, Turbo Everdrive V2, EverDrive 64 V3, SD2SNES Rev J.
On my wishlist:
Everdrive GB X7, Everdrive GBA X5.

The product page on the feature section describe this
"Quick loading of game files (approx. 4-8 seconds)"
So I think it is not an instant loading yet.

But I already make an order anyway. LOL.

So sad I don't see any option to add DSP chip to X5 on it's page. He (biokrik) already said that they have no any special chip on the X5 version.

I have seen a list of game that need DSP support cart around 20 title  or less.

A new one have an instant loading that's useful more than ability to play 20 title that I never interest.
Moreover It's just about 71$ if you order now.

I will come back to check if this cart can add any special chip in the future. If so maybe I will consider order again and sale the old one.

instant loading is not a reason to buy something that does the same with the older model i can wait a few seconds for a game to load,sd2snes is selling like crazy and only for the special chips it supports and now with the fx chip supported for just less than 10-12 superfx games people are paying almost 200usd.

The issue is not the number of games with special chips, it's *which* games they are. These include Super Mario Kart, Kirby Super Star, Star Fox, Yoshis Island, Super Mario RPG and Starfox 2. To put this into perspective, that's more than 25% (a quarter) of the games that are deemed so essential/defining to the SNES library that they are included in the SNES Classic Mini. And there's even more classic titles using special chips that didn't make the cut in this list, like Pilotwings or the Megaman X2/X3 games.

I get it, the Super EverDrive is a budget option - you want the full library, get the SD2Snes. But who is the target audience for a flash cartridge that can't even run Super Mario Kart?
