I'm having an issue with my SD2SNES where Super Mario Kart freezes at the Nintendo logo. I just updated it to 1.9.0

I thought it might have been an issue with my Super NT, but it freezes on my Super Famicom as well (which it never did before).

Pilotwings works, so I don't think it's an issue with DSP-1 games.

I've tried two different copies on the game as well and got the same result.

I was wondering if anyone has had any similar issues.

Working fine here on my sd2snes with firmware 1.9

But with a Super NT?

Srry,my fault,its on a 1chip snes.

I'm having this same issue. It worked fine with firmware 0.1.7e, but after upgrading it doesn't work anymore.

I'm using a SHVC-CPU-01 SNES.

make sure you have all dsp files inside the sd2snes folder

dsp1.bin (CRC32: 27124599)
dsp1b.bin (CRC32: 588279B4)
dsp2.bin (CRC32: F0221C90)
dsp3.bin (CRC32: E3B54E6A)
dsp4.bin (CRC32: CA09E176)

dsp3.bin (CRC32: E3B54E6A)
dsp4.bin (CRC32: CA09E176)

That might be the problem. If you are doing a fresh install (which is what I was doing) then you don't get any of them. I imagine if I just replace everything in my "snes" folder with the content of the new firmware it will work fine.

I think this needs to be changed so you can just extract everything from the latest version and it will work. It's 1am here, so I will have to try this later. Thanks for the help.

Just as a tip, but I had to format my sd card in order to make some games run again.

ie:

1.8.0 super road blaster ok
1.9.0 access timming errors (sometimes)
1.10.1 (beta) access timming errors always
Back to 1.8.0 and all ok again

Fotmatting the sd card was the soluciĆ³n to make 1.9.0 and 1.10.1 all ok.

Well, my sd2snes is a little "special" and magno made some changes in the code in order to make it compatible.

He sent me a few beta firmwares to test and the one that is 100% working is named 1.10.1 but it had some issues with MSU and DSP games... Fotmatting my SD solved ALL issues.

My real Super Mario Kart cart (PAL) sometimes freezes on the Nintendo logo. But not every time and it is usually fixed when resetting or power cycling.

Hey Ikari and RedGuy, thanks a lot for the update.
But unfortunately the Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension keeps freezing to me.

I've tested the original and translated roms, and both freezes the image while the sound continues playing normally.

My system is a brazilian SNES fat, with sd2snes rev. F and I'm using the original power supply unit.

This is my only issue with sd2snes, besides the Earthworm Jim 2 buggy sound. 😖

run diagnostics (its take 15mins)
https://sd2snes.de/blog/cool-stuff/sd2snes-diagnostics

on your sd2snes rev. F cart
to see if one of component is faulty
as quality of rev. F is hit or miss

and post the text file here

What do you mean by that? even if I purchased my rev f brand new from stone age gamer, quality on it may be hit or miss? where did you get that info? how can I tell if mine was poorly built?

By running the diagnostics. But I have no clue where the claim of general bad quality on rev. f is from, it's plain wrong.
