I want to start a new thread here cause the old one was a bit confusing…

Basically – have just got a second hand official stone age gamer Revision F SD2SNES, and I cannot get the menu working no matter which firmware I have tried (1.7, 1.8, 1.9). Every time I press X (to open the menu) the sd2snes freezes. I would like to have version 1.8 or 1.9 so that I can use in game hooks and or save states. Everything else works fine except that I cannot get the menu to appear, which is necessary for these functions. Any help would be greatly appreciated..!

As I understand it firmware updates should work regardless of the different versions of the sd2snes – so if I cannot get the menu working to use these functions I may have to return it. I have even tried a different SD card, and though the games worked I had the same problem with the menu freezing the cart. If anyone has experienced and or solved this issue of the sd2snes freezing when trying to load the menu please weigh in..!

Are you using the SD2SNES with an actual Super Nintendo/Famicom console, and are you using a genuine Nintendo made SNES power adapter?  The SD2SNES draws more power than a typical SNES cartridge, so I wouldn’t advice using it with a 3rd party SNES console power adapter.  See Q5 in the FAQ here:  https://sd2snes.de/blog/faq

Got the same problem here: press "X" for menu freezes the SNES. Is this issue solved? Any conclusions?
I'd tested a different power brick, cleaned all contacts, used a different firmware and SD-Card but to no avail.
