I never heard about this until I looked it up. I'm surprised.
I'm sure I have not heard of it because the AES and MVS Flash Carts have been released and are doing well. Nonetheless, I think furrtek is doing an amazing thing working on a Neo Geo ODE.
1) Most of these consoles use x1 speeds which are terribly slow. So if we get cartridge like load times, that'd be amazing.
2) Lasers are going to die, so this will be a great way to preserve the CD based Neo Geo consoles
I don't own a Neo Geo, but have been thinking about a AES. But now I might think about the CD based console. I like the aesthetics better and I think it goes better with the neo geo control pads (not the arcade sticks).
Only thing I don't know if this will save stuff like high scores? I know the AES has a memory card for that.
