SD2SNES Pro slowdowns?
« on: October 21, 2019, 04:51 AM »
On two separate games I’ve noticed slowdowns that don’t exist on physical cartridges. The first one was super Mario world the other was donkey Kong country on the first level. So far I’ve only seen it once on each. Wondering if this was just a one off or if possibly it just happened to hit a spot that the system cpu caused a significant slowdown.

Do you have in-game hooks on or off? I believe in-game hooks chew up a little bit of cycle time, so that might impact performance a little bit.

Yeah, definitely try it with them off and see if they go away. Something may be making the timing tight. It's a bit like running a Game Genie, although more lightweight than that CPU-wise. I know ikari worked hard to minimize the impact of the routine, but they may still be affecting things.

Or it could just be a one-off situation, as you speculated.
