Yes the new splitscreen mod is very good. I am amazed by the improvements made there.

Somehow this missed my radar! This should be quite fun!

Has anyone been able to beat Koopa the Quick for me it just finishes the timer and when slow ass Koopa gets there he just waits. I know this mod skips the dialogs but now it's only just keeping this star locked away... :(

also is it normal that the hud is almost entirely cut out the frame?

he updated his rom. Koopa the Quick now works just fine.

Sadly the Hud wasn't fixed, so you still don't see very well coin and star counters.

It's really great.

The only thing it'd need to be perfect, is the 1 player or 2 player option on the "Press Start" menu and also if we could have a fixed hud and Luigi's own voice. (I guess it's a bit too much haha)

Great that Koopa the Quick is fixed! We played through the old version and noticed a number of bugs. Besides Koopa the Quick refusing to admit defeat, there was a crash in Shifting Sand Land (somewhere close to the vulture). The crash had an error screen with crash information that Emanuer added to the game. I took a photo but I haven't sent it to him yet. Maybe it's fixed now though. It happened twice on that level so we simply skipped it and gathered stars from other levels instead. Then there were certain events like the monkey on top of Tall Tall Mountain that would only respond correctly to the right character (Mario or Luigi), so sometimes you had to experiment a little to get it to work.
We beat the game with the minimum number of stars (70) which is easy enough even with all the bugs.

The HUD problem is due to Emanuer doing the same mistake as Krikzz and wallpaper makers did with the ED64 OS:

I'm happy to hear that my TV is not the only one cropping the HUD.

That's so awesome! Man, imagine it would have had 2-player co-op back in the day!  :O

You mean another TV might display it fine?

Anyone think why I might be getting a black screen with this? Using the latest patch, a known good ROM and the online patcher, the resulting ROM is fine on an emulator but it refuses to boot on my actual N64.

Do you have an expansion pack plugged into your N64? You need one, or many game mods/hacks won't work, even if the original game (such as Super Mario 64) didn't need an expansion pak to run.

I've just sent you a PM.
