(Request) A Program to Patch a cheat into a Game
« on: January 23, 2020, 02:56 AM »
Does anyone here know if there is there a tool that will allow us to apply game cheats to a N64 (.z64) or PS1 BIN file, this way when we run the game, it already has the cheats enabled and embedded?

For example an app similar to this utility for:
* RETRO games (NES, SNES, and etc.): ‪Game Genie Guy (app)‬

If not, is there a guide to accomplish something similar either with HEX editing or something?

Game Genie Guy was only useful for patching codes for GB/GBC/SMS/GG/NES and SNES games unless you pasted every code in the list you were using causing the device to not function with how they normally work on a real Game Genie.

For example those codes that normally work on certain games would cause problems when they were patched be it a title screen not appearing, a random pixel in the background and more... so you had to mix and match random ones taking out parts of the code for them to work.

I think the N64 one was in planning stages but the maker never got around to making one as was for the GBA too, to be hounest with the amount of code fixing to get GGGuy to work with codes for any of those games I could have completed the SNESAdvance revival project if it were not for spending countless hours finding which code works for some of the worst amount of codes to go through for some NES games to work on my NES classic 3 years ago!

For the N64 there is this program:

though I've not tried it myself, so I can't comment on it. I hope that does what you want.

Kinda reminds me of the PCETOY app unless you had a device that ran it in the past it wont work on modern technology devices.

If there is a way to convert a save to something the everdrive can read. I bet you can simply take your save with a emulator. put the cheat like max money or something like that then stick it on your everdrive again. May or may not need converting.
Never tried thou.
