Does this revision allow saving in Shining Force? Does Gunstar Heroes work? Thanks

Yep. I'm not spending the money until I know for sure.

So the primary upgrades are Save States, In-Game menu, Soft reset to menu, and Instant loading?  Does that justify a 60% increase in price?

@KRIKzz could you please let us know if this revision allows saving in Shining Force and if Gunstar Heroes works?

Great news! I was waiting for this one.

Additional questions:

- Does it support SG-1000 ROMs, like the old ED GG?
- Is the OS the same as for the Master ED? (The 'OS Update' link from the official site leads to Master ED OS download page.)

Thanks!

Sad news for those who bought the old version, because it means that we will not have any update ... bye bye  Gunstar Heroes  :-\

Telling from the posts in the Everdrive GG forums, it sounds like Gunstar Heroes doesn't work and Shining Force still doesn't save.

I'd wager that saving works in Final Conflict, since it lists a maximum SRAM size of 32KB. That's the size of Final Conflict's SRAM file in Kega Fusion.

That doesn't answer the question on Gunstar Heroes, though.

Not necessarily.

Since I bought it 2 o 3 years ago I never saw any update so, now that the X7 came out I don't think Krizz will investigate an old product...

Actually, looking around, I think the old version used 32KB FRAM, so... yeah, still would like confirmation around those two issues.

I opened a ticket requesting clarification on both points. No response. To me this is our answer. No change in compatibility for the new rev which, for me, means no sale.

I realise this thread hasn’t been active for a while, and indeed these questions are most likely answered elsewhere. However, as this is one of the first threads a lot of prospective customers may actually see, before digging around elsewhere, I thought I’d just do an update to clarify on the two main questions raised here.

1: Yes, Gunstar Heroes works with the GG X7.

2: Shining Force definitely does save progress in-game, and I don’t mean by using the save states feature of the X7.

I know these to be true as I was playing both games today. The ED GG X7 is an amazing upgrade over my old ED GG. Not only are the above issues fixed, but even things such as before I couldn’t play H.E.RO. for the SG-1000 due to graphic corruption. But thankfully, as I love that game, it works perfectly with the GG X7.
