Famicom N8 on US Top Loader
« on: March 15, 2020, 03:34 AM »
Hello! I gave my old Famicom N8 Everdrive to a friend when I got my N8 Pro, and they are having trouble getting it to work on a US Top Loader. The have a pin adapter, which works with actual Famicom carts. However, when they turn on the system, they just get a green screen that turns blue. I've heard that NES N8s do not like the pin adapters to use in a Famicom, is the same the case with the Famicom N8 in an adapter to US Toploaders? Or is there probably an issue with the SD Card? Thank you in advance, I really appreciate any help.

Did they try resetting the region chip by pressing reset a bunch of times? That sounds similar to the chip not being set for the right region

I will mention it. Thank you for the idea. I was using it in a retroUSB AVS, and never had to worry about that. Will post again with results.

Toploaders don't have a region chip.

We got it all sorted, thank you! Turns out when I updated the OS without reformatting the MicroSD it didn't like that very much.
