N64 Game Saves - confused and can't save DK64
« on: September 26, 2013, 05:15 AM »
I tried saving Donkey Kong 64 with the mem pak plugged in and says OK, but there is no save there. I am also confused on how to use save function? I see on the OS menu pressing the R button selects different options SRAM etc.

1. Can someone explain all the save options to me?

2. Also what I am doing wrong with DK64. Not sure that it matters but it's from the No-Intro set.

Thanks.

Yes I created a "SAVE" folder inside the ED64 folder and can see it. It has a Golden Eye save in there even though I never did any saves.

OK thanks I found the boot & save rom. What other games have save protection that I need to get special fixes?

just look in goodset romsets for [f1] or [f2] etc...just means they are fixed for flashcarts and emulation :) most games dont need it, i always use those [f] fixed ones if they are in the set or [!] which are clean dumps, hope that helps

Maybe he meant the other Everdrive forum.  The games that need a hack are listed in the sticky faq over there:

Also, there is a crack for Banjo Tootie now so the faq is not completely up to date.

also Jet Force Gemini (E) (M4) [f1].z64 does not work on ED64, black screen after cinematics/just before gameplay, i use Jet Force Gemini (U) [f1].z64 instead
