Controller remap feature?
« on: June 02, 2020, 04:57 AM »
I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a button remap feature on the sd2snes. This would be useful because I don't find the default control schemes comfortable on some games, and even games that allow you to remap the controls on the main menu aren't fully flexible. For instance, Super Metroid doesn't allow you to remap angle up or angle down to face buttons, which I prefer when playing on emulators.

If this is doable, any pointers towards how this could be implemented would be helpful because I might be able to implement it myself by modifying the firmware. Thanks in advance for any help.

No it isn't doable. Every game may use different controller reading routines. Hacking the game you want to remap and releasing a patch is the way to go.

I see. I'll probably make an adapter with a microcontroller that can do it. Thanks.
