EverDrive 64 / Error:55+SDR
« on: May 07, 2021, 11:16 PM »
I'm having a weird issue - My brand new Everdrive 64 x5 works perfect on my RGB modded N64, but whenever I use it in my UltraHDMI-modded N64, I get:  Error:55+SDR

Has anyone run into this before?  I tried cleaning the cartridge slot, but it didn't help.  Also, real carts work fine on both and a crappy Everdrive knockoff someone gave me* works on both as well.  Here's the pic:

*Please don't bust my chops about the knockoff.  It was given to me by someone who didn't know better and eventually bought a real one from Krikzz.  I only keep it for times like this.

Mega EverDrive / Tool to convert sav's between MiSTer & Mega Everdrive
« on: November 07, 2020, 03:12 PM »
There's now tools available that allow you to swap Sega Genesis savegames between the MiSTer and Everdrives, made by Rysha and Superg.  I've tested a few and it works great.  I figured there's probably other people here using both devices that can benefit from this:

EverDrive GB / Comparison Between Everdrive GB (original) and GB x7?

Is something like this posted anywhere?  I see the differences between the x3, x5 and x7, but not the x7 and original.

Master EverDrive / Master Everdrive - Retron 5
« on: June 08, 2014, 05:13 PM »
Does anyone with a Master Everdrive own a Retron 5?  If so, I'd like to try an experiment, as the Master Everdrive acts differently than the other Everdrives I own:

- Load a game and start playing via SMS (or Genesis w/ Power Base Converter).
- Power the system off, remove the SD card.
- Power it back on; The game should load immediately, as if it was a real game cartridge.
- Power off your SMS and insert the Master Everdrive into the Retron 5 (via the Power Base Converter).
- Hope it works!

I want to see if I can use this to trick the Retron into loading games from a ROM cart. If so, it's possible that Krikzz could use this method on other carts to get around their rom cart protection.

I'd try it myself, but the Genesis port in my Retron 5 is defective:
