EverDrive N8 / Re: VS Castlevania [NES-hack] released

No, I also experienced that when I loaded the ROM. I thought it might have been a case of dirty pin connectors, but apparently not.

EverDrive N8 / Re: VS Castlevania [NES-hack] released

Sorry for the necro; I'm a little confused regarding Vs. Castlevania for the NES. It's working for me, but I'm not seeing the option to play 2 player competitively, you know- .Vs  :o
Secondly, I seem to only be able to insert one coin before the game starts? Any insight would be great!

Accurate FDS audio is my main interest. I've already proposed starting a funding campaign for Krikzz to accomplish this; if anyone else is interested in helping incentivize Krikzz to implement accurate FDS audio channels, then let's talk.

Yeah, this is a known issue. Like you, I simply cannot play FDS games on the EDN8 because of the off-pitch FDS channels. Since Igor is obviously exceptionally busy with the EDGBA, perhaps he will eventually have time to take another look at this issue. I've previously proposed starting a funding campaign to make it worth Igor's time (via Patreon, or maybe just Paypal gifts), but no one really got on board.

There was someone on this forum who offered to look at the code, but I guess nothing materialized out of that. Anyone remember who that was? It seemed like he may have had a solution.

Same as the Intel cup system I guess.

I didn't think of it that way, but it's still more confusing to me than the current names. Irregardless, while I may not like the new naming system, it would in no way be a barrier to entry so to speak if I were buying all of the Everdrives over again, hypothetically; I just hope it won't deter/confuse any future prospective customers.

News / Re: EverDrive-GBA power consumption

$99 USD is more than reasonable all things considered. I too thought that the price point would be a little higher, so this is a welcome surprise. To me, Krikzz certainly deserves every penny he gets for his phenomenal work. I'll happily be purchasing one whenever they become available.

Any ETA for release date on retrogate?

EverDrive N8 / Re: Konami VRC7 Mapper Support Package

I've asked him - he doesn't want to share it unless he's getting some money for his time.
Did he give any sort of price range for it? I think people here would pretty gladly pitch in on a bounty for working VRC7 audio and fixed FDS audio.

Yeah, I've basically purchased all of the famicom games with expansion audio that I wanted to hear with proper audio (Lagrange Point, Gimmik!, Just Breed, Akumajou Densetsu, Esper Dream 2, Madara). It's understandably difficult to emulate such varied mappers accurately, but I don't want to deal with original FDS hardware in order to play FDS games with correct sound, particularly because if you emulate the extra FDS channels accurately, the fix will apply to all games.

If this individual wants to get paid in order to divulge his work that would lead to proper FDS audio, I'd gladly chip in some cash; let's proposition him I say.

I am happy with my everdrive. Plays 99% of the games I want. Nuff said. Thank you krikzz.  ;D

Same here; My favourite Everdive (own 8 of them) for my favourite console. Rock on, Krikzz!  8)

Sorry guys, to be clear: will the GBA Everdrive's larger shell fit in the Gamecube Gameboy Player?

Would like to see super street fighter 2 done with the 3DO soundtrack  ;)

That's a great idea; I'd also dig if someone could insert the Arcade CPS-2 soundtrack into the SNES SSFII.

EverDrive 64 / Re: ScummVM Nintendo 64 package
« on: May 19, 2015, 09:55 PM »
Does anyone know of a straightforward guide as to how to get Scummvm set up on the ED64 (folder setup, file preparation, etc)? I went through the enclosed readme file, and found it quite confusing. I'm familiar with Scummvm and use it on my PC, but it would be awesome to be able to check out some of those Lucasarts adventure games on a CRT monitor with proper scanlines via the ED64.

I'm having difficulty getting the Download- Infinite energy patch to work. Am I correct in understanding that "infinite energy" means invincibility? If it is, for some reason the patch doesn't seem to have that effect in game for me; am I missing something?

*EDIT: Apparently none of the IPS patches are working for me; I'm using the latest version of Lunar IPS, as well as ROMS from the No-Intro set. I used some of the Master System IPS patches with the No Intro set, and it worked fine so I don't get it... I'm particularly interested in the Splatterhouse cheats, and the Download cheat. Any insight would be appreciated!
