Title: Wallpaper thread! 320x240 only edition!
Post by: SG333gg on December 08, 2020, 04:38 AM
Most of the wallpaper threads are before the x7, which does not support a background over 320x240 (which may i add, sucks major ass btw), and i find myself unable to find a decent image in that small of a res.

Got any good ones?

Also any that make the titles easy to read like a game shelf? (havnt seen that since the older high res ones where made)

Help a user out, here, i made my own edit of the default 2 file that came with my system, just added a rough cut of the N64 logo. Not center and not done by a pro but i really wanted something n64 themed.

Left it as an attachment if you want it. Though its easy to make by yourself too :3
Also added a space themed n64 (however i find it hard to read white text over it)

Enjoy... :3
Please post 320x240 themed wallpaper

"So you won't be bothered that I'm graying and...."

"Stop. There will be no more talk of our age and our bodies being anything negative. We are who we are. People get older. No need to stop having fun." She laid back on the bed and let me do my thing. I nibbled and teased and licked as I had in the past. When my tongue began working over her clit, I could tell she was into it https://collectionofbestporn.pro/ ,

"Oh god Jimmy, oh I haven't...so long...keep ooooo going." Now I was fully into it my tongue lashing her clit and licking her slit and teasing at her open pussy. She grasped my hair, held me in place and told me firmly not to stop. When she arched her back and pushed her pussy into my face I knew she was cumming. I kept going until she relaxed and begged me to stop. When I joined her at the top of the bed I asked,

"Now is that something we should stop doing?"

"Never. You were a good pussy licker and still are." I accepted the compliment, then we toasted our rekindled relationship with champagne. I snuggled Carol from behind and slid my cock into her. She sighed as I caressed her and slowly filled her wet pussy. I took my time, enjoyed touching her as I rocked into her. When I had cum, I stayed holding Carol with my softening cock inside her. Still amazed that I was really feeling Carol inside after all this time. And now it seemed like this might be something we'd do until we just couldn't. But we were older, not old. We had years to enjoy ourselves.

I returned home to the warm sunshine, and my empty house. I looked around wondering what changes we'd make. Surely a woman's touch. This wasn't just going to be somewhere Carol was visiting, a guest. When, if, she moved in permanently it would be her home too. Everything seemed to go as planned. Carol visited, and stayed a month. She enjoyed the warm sun, the small pool, even my cooking. We made love and enjoyed each other's company. Laying out by the pool one day I brought up the summer day, nearly as hot, when we had carefree sex on her roof. Naked to the world, not concerned, in the moment, that we'd be caught.

"When was the last time you had sex outside?"

"Oh Jimmy, it had to have been on the roof."

"Want to do it outside again?" Carol looked around, noting that the high fence allowed a good measure of privacy.

"Can I have more cushion than my towel on that tar roof?"

"Sure. You can stay right on that lounger." To show I wasn't kidding I stood and removed my swim trunks. My rising cock was soon pointing at Carol as she slipped off her suit. Sitting back on the lounger, she opened her legs to allow me access. I noticed that she had trimmed herself as she had in the past. I settled in between her legs and offered my cock to her. When she had rubbed me up and down her slit and place me at her opening I pushed in and reveled in our closeness. As was our new found habit we made love slowly, casually, enjoying our intimacy, remembering our early days of lustful, youthful vigor. I was so very happy to have Carol back in my life. She'd assured me that she felt the same. Now her moans of pleasure assured me that she was enjoying our mating.

Perhaps it was where we were doing it, reminding her of past times, or one time in particular, but she put her mouth to my ear and low enough not to be heard by neighbors, "Oooh, oh fuck me Jimmy. Fuck me hard. Oooo, aaaaah, Uh, uh, mmmmm, yes , yes hard, fuuuuck me." I tried. I gave her what I had. Our bodies slapping together, my cock plunging in with each thrust, with the lust of years apart and now rejoined. I forgot my age and fucked like I hadn't in years. Then it came upon me, from deep inside, building, until, rushing forward I let loose a series of spurts, into my love, then collapsing against her, holding myself on my knees and elbows as the strength left me with the pulsing orgasm.

"Jimmy, you old beast you, that was just what I needed now https://hotmyfreecams.com/ ."

"Just don't expect that too often. Whew." Carol held me and we stayed together until I need to lay back on my chair.

Carol went home to make arrangements, alert her family, then sent out her necessary belongings. We now share my house in Arizona, travel frequently, and enjoy each other's company as much as ever.

Here is an archive of some Everdrive 64 wallpapers, in both 640 x 480, and 320 x 240 resolutions.

Downlod the archive from:

https://mega.nz/file/eUk0gSiK#m_E5nbBDT0JsJ5N11Xzp48tahtJiESppKG0RksNFbkM (https://mega.nz/file/eUk0gSiK#m_E5nbBDT0JsJ5N11Xzp48tahtJiESppKG0RksNFbkM)

Edit: The archive in the above link now contains both .JPG and .BMP files, for X7 users.

These are the wallpapers (don't click on these to download them, click on the mega.nz link, above.

Also, some X7 wallpapers are available from the post at:

http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=9671.msg73197#msg73197 (http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=9671.msg73197#msg73197)

To create your own wallpaper, use the free program called Easy Graphic Converter, from

http://www.etrusoft.com/graphic-converter/index.htm

as for some reason, some graphic converters don't create files that the Everdrive 64 can use.

Use this program to convert a photo or picture that you like to a resolution of either 640 x 480, or 320 x 240. The resolution you need depends on your Everdrive 64 version; v2.0 and v2.5 Everdrives can use either 640 x 480 or 320 x 240, so you may as well use 640 x 480, as it will look better. But the X7 Everdrive 64 and maybe the v3 ( I don't know) can only use 320 x 240, at least until Krikzz updates the OS software to support a higher resolution, so you will have to go with 320 x 240.

Whichever resolution you use, the file extension MUST be .bmp (i.e. the file MUST be a bitmap graphics file), and it MUST be 16 bit. Use Easy Graphic Converter from the link I give above, and as long as you use the right resolution

For real just seeing that wallpaper game shelf in 640 makes me sad as i know theres nothing like that in a lower res. I wish there was someone who could make a few of them for easier to read titles that match up with the screen's background. Anyone got anything like that in 320x240 ? Or anything that makes reading white text easier on the eyes?

Side note: I dont think .bmp works with the everdrive x7, i think it has to be a jpeg. I also have no program to open .bmp or convert it to jpeg. However from the preview these look like they make text harder to read but look nice. Kinda like my space n64 background, is there something for easy of read without being just one color or simple?

Mind the overscan when creating wallpapers. I don't know about the X7, but the v2 displays it over the whole screen so that part of the top, bottom and sides are cropped off on a TV. The OS menu itself isn't designed correctly either and parts of it is cropped, especially if using the larger resolution.

I've also seen a lot of homebrew not caring about overscan. Mind the overscan.

Google seems to have a hard time finding anything past the size requirement and the word wallpaper, however i noticed pioxel art had a few hits, sadly if i try to expand on that by a word like japan or something the sizes are all wrong. However heres a few gems i found that others may enjoy and are hopefully easier to read white text on.

I found most of them here: https://hdqwalls.com/320x240/pixel-wallpapers

Its hit and miss but pixel 4k backgrounds resized this small seem just fine
As you can see from these images i included in the post, i tried to keep it darker for easy reading.

Please enjoy these and try to give back to the thread :3

Here's a new link, with the same images as in my earlier post, but they are now also in .JPG format (and still in .BMP format too, of course), hopefully they will work on the X7.

If you're able, could you take a picture of that happening so I can figure out where the margins should be?

Hey just to confirm this, the x7 has the same issue. I just never noticed before, but i just tried to make a (list) type background and noticed it right away. So technically the 320x240 is a bit less visually....which is strange. I wonder if an update will fix that or if we gotta do it ourselfs.

Do you know if there is a setting to change so they display correctly or must we make the backgrounds with dead space due to the cutoff ?

I don't think Krikzz was aware of the overscan problem, or else the menu wouldn't be cropped like it is. Maybe his TV displays the full image from the video signal. Modern flat TVs often to do that, while CRTs doesn't. Hopefully he will fix it in an update someday.

You might notice that all games takes care to not have HUDs or menus too far out in the edges to make sure everything shows up on all TVs. Nintendo wouldn't allow you to release your game if you don't mind the overscan. Generally the safe area is something like 16 pixels in on left and right edges and 16 or 24 lines in at top and bottom, but I don't know the exact numbers Nintendo recommends for the N64.

Would it be possible to get a sample image, of the cut off zone in another color, so i can design some backgrounds that dont crop as badly.

Im using super64, connected to a projector and i have the same issue. It runs at a rez of 1280x768 according to a laptop i hooked it up to. I am unable to test other res due to only having a projector.

I really wanna make images for the background but i need it to be outliend for the crop out zone, could you help me?

edit: did one test, made a square 17 pixels from all sides....results lot more space shows before the cut.. it has to be lower than 17 pixels but higher than 6. Also noticed right side of screen seems to crop more than normal.....the menu lines cut off on the right yet are on the border on the left. It may be due to my projector using hdmi (widescreen) and that odd res but im unsure. I just wanna get as close as i can here.

I know i have more cut off zone than most, (perhaps just on the right, no way to tell)  but i wanna get close as i can here.

It's different for every TV, but 16 lines/rows in on all sides is with a lot of margin and is probably ok on all TVs. The cutoff is usually around 8 pixels/lines something on many TVs.
But 16 pixels/lines is for a traditional 256x240 resolution such that the NES and SNES uses. Since the N64 uses a 320 pixel horizontal resolution (your projector's native resolution doesn't matter) for its low resolution mode, pixels are much more narrow than on the NES, so you must have a larger margin on the left and right sides. As I said I don't know what Nintendo recommends for this system.

Your projector cuts off more on the right because the picture is not exactly in the center. This depends on the horizontal timing of the video signal. You might be able to adjust the centering of the image on your projector.

Edit: typo

My projector has two knobs. One is a focus knob, which just refocuses the image, and the other tilts the image up and down slightly so you dont get a wrapped picture, however the cut off on the right nothing seems to effect it, i got the projector for cheap so im not too bothered, but if there was a way to fix it, i would love that.

I know it works fine on my other tv, which is why i think res came into this. Frankly i dont know enough about this subject to do much myself to fix it. Still i have to wonder if the cut off point for some tvs and my projector may be the same or slightly different.

Okay, i made a few backgrounds for easier reading.

They arent perfect but maybe someone might like a pikachu style background.  I perfect the dark gray with nothing in the middle for easier reading on a projector. Enjoy

The cutoff point may be different on every TV/projector/monitor.

Look in the manual to see if there is a way to adjust the horizontal position on your projector. Or google for it.
CRT TVs sometimes has a secret service menu that allows you to adjust these things, and monitors have knobs. Since every game system has slightly different video timings, it's not unusual that you might have to adjust the screen position.

It has limited settings, i dont think there is a way to adjust is. Its one of the projectors that has built in hoilday crap to play, but you can switch it to usb or hdmi, which im using hdmi

This is the projector im using: https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/Gemmy-HLightshow-CineMotion-Film-Halloween/dp/B07CHV6VDG

cant find anything on how to adjust that so the right isnt cut off.

Have you tried the gray Pokemon with a clear enter that i posted above? I found the same issue, and sadly since the x7 uses a lower res background vs the older cart, it seems a bit harder to get anything to look nice and readable.
