The firmware you put on the SD is open, yes. The hardware itself is no more since years as the dev (Hiiii ikari ^^) realized that the only thing he managed to get that way are cheap made clones from china with zero sense or skills for electronics. Some of these even can kill your SNES, so I think @Richardragon87 's assumption sounds very reasonable. Likely not on firmware side, but on bootloader side maybe. Don't take this as verified now. Only the ppl behind SD2SNES/FXPak can tell you.

All in all you are on a official seller's forums belonging to his site and shop here. So sorry, but you won't get much help here at all. The only one who could help you is the knock off seller you got it from.

Yes, a hardware mod. There are ones with a switch and switchless ones. Both are doable if you can solder. Both can be bought as a installation service too.

You need the dsp*.bin and as the list by lee4 explains a few more files in the folder where the firmware is located and you need the correct ones. The right ones are mentioned by lee4 and can be found with google and "dsp1.bin dsp1b.bin dsp2.bin dsp3.bin dsp4.bin st0010.bin" caitsith2 is your friend here.

As compared to an emulator this save state feature can not save the current audio RAM states it might go haywire on some games and in some circumstances. Almost impossible to do that any better due to hardware limitations.

You call a TORX a alien type of screw? Sorry to say it in a semi harsh way, but... did you ever open up a modern electronics device, like EVER?
And before you ask, they are red because of a special color put on them that breaks into piceces when you try to open it. So ppl know when you break things inside and then try to get it fixed for free.

clones of Krikzz's products are not supported here. Stop being cheap and buy the real thing.

How about avoid making false and ignorant statements?
SD2SNES is open source so there is no such thing as an SD2SNES clone, and it's designed by ikari (which is why it's open source unlike krikzz's cart designs).

I see no ignorance here and he is very correct with what he says. You joined a forum of a commercial store selling their own made products. And now you wonder that some ppl show loyality to the owner? Don't make me laugh! You get a cheap as f**k bootleg and expect to get support for it? Don't make me laugh even more! For your information regarding the open source claim: SD2SNES Rev. X is not open source as it never was made or released by ikari. It's what it is, cheap dirt under some chinese bootleggers fingernails packed together as "official" product. If you have a problem with us only helping non bootleggers, feel free to leave.

P.S. that You I used is meant to call anyone out who bought crap on a PCB from some derivate and is now lamenting.

Sounds like a matchstick and a minimal amount of superglue solution for me.

If it runs on Ares/Higan/BSNES, you likely can say it will run on FXPak

Yes, you can put it on your flash cart and try it?

Impossible. The SNES is hardware locked to PAL/NTSC by different clocks used inside. Software can't change that unless you have a switchless mod.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: Super System (arcade) roms on the SD2SNES?

Well, the arcade ROMs are included to the no-intro set and last time I tried them on a precise SNES emulator, they worked fine. So... I would say, using these ROMs... yes, they work.

PAL games on NTSC console maybe? No other reason should be possible as the console just sees the ROM as it was a real cart. The cart itself only can influence the speed on special chips like SA1 or FX/GSU.

He is talking about these files:

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: SD2SNES Scanlines
« on: March 22, 2021, 09:04 AM »
For scanlines you need a Video editing capable video output converter, like OSSC. It can produce emulated scanlines on LCD. A flash cart can do what a game can do and no game does video output on it's own.

Dunno if these save the game save too, but I used it to dump my GB/C games for no-intro. Was years ago...
