EverDrive GB X3 reboot loop error
« on: April 12, 2021, 11:04 PM »
Hi --

Got an X3 and Gameboy Pocket recently.

The pocket works great. Good condition, have been playing an original cartridge of Legend of Zelda on it the past few days.

Have been struggling to get the X3 running properly. Have followed all online tutorials (format SD card to Fat32, copy GBC OS zip file to root directory, unzip, add home-brew GB games to SD card, eject from computer, plug SD card into EverDrive X3, plug cartridge into GB Pocket, turn on) but when the GB is turned on, the screen goes through a reboot loop.

Steps:

- turn on GB
- Nintendo logo descends, dings
- screen says "loading OS ..."
- EverDrive X3 flashes red
- GB resets
- Nintendo logo descends, dings
- EverDrive flashes red
- GB resets
- repeat ad nauseam

Using latest version of OS here:

EverDrive-GB
Model 17, Rev.C

SanDisk 128GB MicroSD card

Any ideas how to fix?

Great feedback, thx.

The batteries were fresh. When I switched the microSD card to a smaller 16gb the problem resolved and the EverDrive works great!

Thx again for the help.
