Hello all, I know this isn't really a PC forum, but I'll ask anyways. I recently built a gaming PC, and quite enjoy it. This has got me thinking- why not build a Home Theater PC dedicated to my television needs? A sort of hub for all my entertainment needs, streaming, mild gaming, physical media support (my PC does not have a disc drive). I went so far as to build one on PC part picker, and when I saw the cost, it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why would I not just connect my gaming PC to the television with a long HDMI cable? I wouldn't have support for physical media, but it would be way cheaper. Has anyone else built a HTPC, and did you like it enough that you felt justified in building another PC altogether for your media needs?

EverDrive 64 / V3 vs V2 SD card location?
« on: March 07, 2018, 02:38 AM »
Hello, I have an ED64 V2, and a cart I made for it that required sacrificing 2 cartridges so that its color scheme would match my pilachu N64. My reset button no longer works, so I need to upgrade to a V3.
So my question is basically: is the V3 SD port in the exact location of the V2 SD slot, or will I not be able to use my 2-tone cart without further modification? Or I guess if anyone can recommend a console repairman, that would alleviate my need for a V3.

EverDrive 64 / N64 Reapair
« on: December 08, 2014, 03:41 AM »
My N64 has stopped working fully- the reset button no longer works. This normally wouldn't be a problem. But as you all know the ED64 uses this method to save. So does anyone know a reputable repairman to fix this issue? I mean, I may as well have it modded to if it's cheap enough and the tech knows what he/she's doing. So- any takers?

Off Topic / Playing ISO's on a PS2
« on: October 21, 2014, 06:59 PM »
I recently bought a PS2, and I want to be able to play many games on it, like with the everdrives.
After some research, It seems there are a variety of methods, but specifically I was wondering if there was a way to Play all the games without burning 3,870 individual disks. I have a fat PS2. I have heard of Free Mcboot, but I don't know if that alone allows you to play burned disks. . .
Anyone else have any input? Is there one fix all solution that is 100% compatible? I don't need such a high compatibility, but it would be nice to have.

EverDrive N8 / Just a few questions about my purchase.
« on: October 01, 2014, 07:31 PM »
Bougth one of these the other day, and i was wondering. . .

1) Can i use a micro SD and a half size micro SD adapter to avoid cutting a hole in the top? (dremel is broken, this topic was mentioned on the ED64 forum)
2) What do you name the everdrive folder that you put the OS in?
3) Where to download ROM set?
4) Anything else i should know?

I'll have to wait and see when i get my everdrive in the post. Hopefully it works as well as my ED64.

EverDrive 64 / Holy Grail of N64 gaming?
« on: August 27, 2014, 05:49 AM »
Earlier this year it seems someone found a 64DD copy of Super Mario 64-

real or fake?

alright. when i first got my ED64 i just dropped the OS in and it was 1.29.
i never really noticed until i saw stuff about mem pack management and gameshark. these features seem useful. i want them.

So, i need to update. every time I look up "how to update ED64 on Google, it always shows results for how to update firmware. As a V2 owner, i shouldn't have to update firmware, right? so how do i update OS? just delete old 1.29 and unzip and paste 2.04 over where the old one was (ED64 folder)?

Sorry for being a newfag.

I really need some games to play guys.
in the process of downloading rom's i downloaded a virus onto my mom's PC, and now i'm working off my cousin's Chromebook.
i can't convert files, so i was wondering if someone could upload a complete set of games in the N.T.S.C. format in a .zip file.
It would be a BIG help. Thanks.
