EverDrive 64 / Super Mario 64 Multiplayer?
« on: January 20, 2016, 05:15 AM »
Has anyone gotten it to work? If so, what needs to be kept in mind? Playing Mario co-op has been a dream of mine for years and it would be amazing if it could be done with the EverDrive!

EverDrive 64 / Trouble with GameShark

Thank you Krikzz for producing an amazing product. Over the years our most-played games (especially Smash Brothers, GoldenEye, and Mario 64) have been getting harder and harder to turn on (averaging at least 5 tries before success), and the EverDrive v3 is a precisely what the doctor ordered. It made this Christmas just as magical as the ones I grew up with as a kid. My brother, myself, and the friend who reminded me of the EverDrive’s existence thank you. :)

One of the selling points for the EverDrive is the GameShark support—and with our cartridges, getting both to work was insanely difficult—specifically dragging and dropping the codes into a text file, something I’ve always wanted to do with my old GameShark. However, I’m not sure I did the process right—I put it in a plain text file with the same name (excepting extension) of the ROM. I tried with Super Mario 64, and all the codes on the screen are blank.

Since the uploads are full, I've put the file on my Dropbox:

I also tested entering a couple codes manually. The first one is Moon Jump for Mario 64 (which worked on my old GameShark, just press the L button), and the second is Rapid fire right gun for GoldenEye, which I haven’t tested before, unfortunately.

When I started up, for both, the screen was black slightly longer than usual, but there were zero changes in game. Am I missing something? Has anyone else had success or issues with the GameShark feature?

Again, thank you, Krikzz, for making an amazing device. It’s breathed new life into my 64, and ensures that my brother and everyone else I can keep our gaming going.

Thank you, also, to the community. You guys are helpful and enthusiastic, and it’s a joy to see so many likeminded souls. Good to be here. :)
