EverDrive 64 / Everdrive 64 V3.0 SD Card Reader Problems?
« on: March 09, 2019, 09:33 PM »
I was wondering if perhaps there was a bad batch of PCBs made that have severe SD Card Reader problems that people are aware of?  I had purchased an Everdrive64 Version 3.05 back in 2016 and it worked perfectly with my N64 and the SD card that came with it from Stone Age Gamer.

I loaned that Everdrive to a friend who has been using it and has no issues at all with the SD card.  I decided to offer the cart to him for a price and he accepted so I just went and bought another Everdrive N64 Version 3.06 from Stone Age Gamer.

The flash cart arrived today, but it does not work.  Whenever I turn it on, I get the default "Can't find OS" gray error screen with the ERROR:F0 message on it.  If I hit reset a few times, eventually a "FAT ERROR" message comes up on that gray screen.

I tried some other brand SD card (PNY instead of SanDisk) and instead just get a black screen with white text that says ERROR 0xC2 Disk Init".  Nothing is working on this.  I've tried multiple different methods of formatting, and even used the back-up card I had from my old Everdrive to no avail.

Has anybody else run into this?  Wondering how common of an issue this might be and whether I should moderate my anticipation of having a work cart.  I've already reached out to Stone Age Gamer who are really great folks, so hopefully this can be fixed quickly.

FYI, but firmware 1.80, with the GSU support included, was released earlier today.  See the Twitter comment below:

EverDrive N8 / FDS Game Issues/Sugestions
« on: June 22, 2017, 09:57 AM »
So I have a curious little question regarding the Famicom Disk System games and the Everdrive N8.  As an OS update is currently being worked on, would it be possible to add in an option to NOT automatically swap discs and instead map it to some button combination?  I ask because the way the system works right now you will never be able to see the full intro to the FDS version of Zelda, or Doki Doki Panic, etc. since the Everdrive automatically swaps disc sides without any input.  If this is done for functional reasons in the OS I understand, but if it's an option that could be added I would definitely appreciate it.

Another issue I have is with the FDS game Doki Doki Panic.  No matter what i do, it will not save my game.  I have followed the instructions to a tee and hit reset before powering down or switching games and it shows that it is saving FDS Save 08, or something to that effect.  But when i go and play the game a few moments later all progress is deleted.  It's kind of frustrating for me.  Is there a way that the game needs to be saved in game that perhaps I am not doing, or is this a bug with the Everdrive?

I'm currently using the no-intro romset and Everdrive N8 OS 16 rc1 which fixes all of the white graphical sprites in all games.  (Awesome job correcting that krikzz.  All games look pristine now!)
