Everdrive N8 usb interface
« on: March 26, 2018, 11:43 PM »
Has anyone modded their Everdrive N8 to add the USB port?

I've recently purchased the parts to make the modification to my Everdrive, however documentation about the USB port seems rather scarce.

I've found the usb utility located here: http://krikzz.com/pub/support/everdrive-n8/development/

Is there any documentation outlining the commands or protocol used to speak to the everdrive over USB?  I seem to recall running into information that suggests:

1) I could load ROMs directly over USB without having to mess with the SD-card (such roms are not saved on the usb card)
2) I could load custom mappers over USB.
3) NES game code could access the FT245 by reading/writing a special MMIO address (maybe $4018?)

I'd like to understand the full capability of the everdrive USB port.

Thanks.
