Title: Trouble with save corrupting
Post by: brutalgg on November 07, 2017, 03:16 PM
Hello all,
I just purchased an Everdrive GBA x5 to play. I've loaded up a couple of my old pokemon game roms and have been playing through the story however i run into an issue where after a couple of times saving the when i start up the game it says the save is corrupt and its rolling back. After that happens I've not been able to get it to successfully save.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is something misconfigured? I'd really like to be able to play the Pokemon GBA games which is primarily the reason I purchased the device.

Thanks,

Brutal

It may be important to note that the save corrupt message is happening within the game not on the UI for Everdrive.

Just adding some updated notes on things I've tried and results:

The issue seems to happen when saving over a previous file. I've tested saving with Pokemon Green, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald all with the same result. I've loaded and used the identical games in an emulator to test if there are some issues with the roms but everything saves as expected from the emulator. I will be testing a new micro SD card shortly to see if that is the issue.

Does any non-Pokemon game save? It could be a problem with the ram or battery on your EDGBA. In that case contact the seller.
By the way Pokemon Green isn't a GBA game.

Do you have another GBA console to test?

Perhaps he meant Pokemon Leaf Green.

Could it be related to the RTC? The RTC can only handle one game with RTC at a time, and thus trying to run another RTC related game might confuse it/overwrite it. Maybe that would then cuase problems with the saves?
