Mega EverDrive / MegaED x3, no HW MegaKey?
« on: May 23, 2018, 08:49 AM »
What does it mean?
Can it still run different region games but with less compatibility or it can only run same region games?
(same region as in same region as the console)

If it is the 1st, still run bit less compat, has anyone a list of what doesn't work?

Off Topic / Everdrives "Resetting defaults" when not used
« on: May 24, 2015, 07:29 AM »
I caught my MasterED, TED (v1) and yesterday even my ED64 (v2) having a bizarre 'resetting ... defaults' or something after a long period of inactivity.

Sometimes I let the consoles off for a month at a time or so, and when I finally play beside the fact that I have to re-seat the ED like 10 times (oxidization?, but normal games tends to work sooner) I also experience sporadic IOErrors (re-seating the SD card a couple of times does the trick) but most interesting is that 'resetting ... defaults' message that pops up in the middle of the screen.

It normally does it once and then it's good to go, until next month that is.

I use to see it on my TED more than anything as I play my PCE in bouts, but I had to take a long pause with my N64 and here it was, same message. My MasterED gave it to me when I was playing it via a cheap PBC clone cart over my Genny.
I am not 100% sure but I believe I've seen it also on the MegaED (v1) once, didn't make much of it.

So what is that message about? Am I the only one seeing it over 3 or 4 different Everdrives? I don't believe it is a coincidence.
Is it reason for concern?

Off Topic / New store, new prices
« on: March 19, 2015, 03:29 AM »
Have the prices gone a bit up OR actually a little down?

It looks some prices have been touched up but it appears that the carts that got touched up do come with a shell already.

Mega EverDrive / MegaED OS v10 beta, Outrun sound issues.
« on: December 27, 2014, 07:23 AM »
I know OS v10 is beta.

I just want to report a finding.

I'm running on a Genesis (US MD) first gen HighDef, before Sega started the TMSS (I believe I have a V3 or V4  motherboard).

Anyway if I run OutRun in demo it loses the music say 1 minutes in, if I play and I chose the left radio station (Magical Shower I believe) then the music + sound stops at around 30 sec. When I say stops I really mean it gets stuck on a random note of the background music and that's it, no more music or sound effects.

If I use OS v9 (same MegaED, same SD card, same Genesis) it woks fine.

Krikzz, did you make some RAM timing more aggressive in v10?

EverDrive 64 / ED64 v2.5 what is it?

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / SD2SNES fw 0.1.7 pre
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:52 AM »
It seems Ikari has released a pre-release of firmware 0.1.7 a couple of days ago

For the direct link:

Also it seems cx4.bin is no longer needs as it is now included in the fpga code (fpga_cx4.bit file).
SatellaView is broken at the moment so if you want it stick to 0.1.6 for now.

EverDrive N8 / ED N8 OS v11 "late sound/out of sync"
« on: August 01, 2014, 08:07 AM »
I have a Twin Famicom, with RGB mod (from Tim).
I updated my ED N8 to OS v11 (from v9) and I noticed that the sound effects on Castlevania 3 (US) and Akumajo Dracula (JAP) are late/out of sync.
Just try the name enter screen, when you move or click on a letter the sound is 0.5/1 sec late on both games.
I tried the original carts (I have both) and none of the issues, sound is in sync.

In game it's the same, sound effects are out of sync, late at about 0.5/1 sec.

I am not sure how this is possible with MMC5 unless the sound is attached to one of the mapper IRQs and those are now out of sync/late, for VRC6 well ... probably the same.

Anyone can confirm I am not dreaming it?
Tomorrow I'll try to go back to OS v9 (or even v9.1) to see if it has been there all along or it just started, truth be told until tonight with OS v11 I've never noticed the delay.
