Mega EverDrive / Re: Which ROM Types Supported (X5)?
« on: July 08, 2021, 04:59 PM »
Much appreciated information, I actually found a no-intro set that looks like it matches the Dat-o-matic list.  Some of these ROMs are still loading a black screen for me.  Some of them work, and some of them don't.

Update: I think they are indeed the ROM dumps causing the issue.  I found another source that appears to have some other working ROMs.  I also changed the SD card and had the same results, both with older MEGA files and now with the new 3.14 version.  I guess the Everdrives truly are picky about the dumps.

No-intro ROMs are usually recommended for most systems.

Thank you for the reply.  I am not sure what No-intro ROMs are?  What is the best way to confirm "good dump" roms?

Mega EverDrive / Which ROM Types Supported (X5)?
« on: July 06, 2021, 04:29 PM »

Recently I pulled out my X5 from 2016 which was working great, apparently with ROMs mostly named .md at the time.  I noticed that the program was updated over the years so I placed those files in the MEGA folder.  I have a Retropie with way more ROMs on it so I moved them to the SD card for my X5, and none of them are working.  A lot of them are named .gen and work fine on the Retropie using the GenesisGX emulator.  Even some that are named .md are not working.  When testing, I am seeing that those old ROMs that I had there in the first place are working, but even and are not.  Does anyone know what happened?

Mega EverDrive / Odd Issues with Mega Everdrive X5
« on: December 16, 2016, 02:59 PM »
For a few months now I have been able to boot up my MDX5 without an issue and play various games just fine.  The other night I booted up and no games showed in the list.  I reset and games showed up, but then when I opened the Shinobi folder there was nothing inside.  I ran a diagnostic and it failed I think the 4th or 5th test.  I reset yet again after reseating the SD card and it appeared to be OK and passed the test.  Is there anything else I can do to figure out what may be happening?  Not sure if it is the SD card or the Everdrive itself.

Mega EverDrive / Gamelist Order
« on: November 26, 2016, 05:02 PM »
Hello, I have a small issue of the gamelist showing some of the last games first.  Vectorman is one of the first games listed and then the list starts appropriately at #, A, B, etc.. why are some of the last games showing first?

Mega EverDrive / Whiny Sound MegaEverDrive x5
« on: October 31, 2016, 04:58 PM »

I am noticing a high pitch sound going on when I have this flash cart hooked up to my stereo system through the Sega Genesis.  Just to test I put in a couple normal Genesis carts and I didn't hear it.  However, I think it goes away during normal play, and I can't notice so much when the game is actually playing.   This is kind of a fleeting issue, but I wanted to get it out there.  Some of you probably wouldn't notice on small TV speakers, only when cranked on a 5CH-7CH stereo system.  I only mention it because it only happens when I am using the MegaEverDrive x5.

EverDrive MD / Rewrite 100,000 times?
« on: September 20, 2016, 09:17 PM »
So, interesting to see 100,000 rewrites as limiting the life of the cart.  I just got an Everdrive-MD v3 and overlooked this detail.  What does this mean?  Every time I load a new game into memory?
