I have an Everdrive N8 Famicom, along with a Famicom console (the original red and white model).
I've tried a few micro sd cards, all 32gb or less and formatted to FAT32.
Working:
* 16gb Apacer SDHC (not sure on the exact model, as it's just one I had lying around - I think it's this: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMAPC81016/Apacer-16GB-microSDHC-UHS-I-Class10-w-1-Adapter)
Not working:
* 32gb Samsung EVO Plus SDHC (it's this model: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMSAM11010/Samsung-EVO-PLUS-32GB-Micro-SD-with-Adapter-up-to) (Fails with error 44)
* 32gb Kingston CANVAS Select Plus SDHC (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMKIC11033/Kingston-32GB-microSDHC-Canvas-Select-Plus-CL10-UH) (Fails with error 42)

I have a few other Everdrives too - all legit bought off of Everdrive.me (mega everdrive x5, fx pak pro, everdrive 64), and they happily accept pretty much any micro SD I throw at them, it seems to just be the N8 that's finnicky.
Hopefully it's not the size, as it seems like 32gb is starting to become the smallest that you can buy.

Are there any guidelines for finding cards that work with the N8? Or could this be caused by something else?
(sounds like power delivery is the most likely other cause - I'm fairly sure my PSUs are all decent quality, but I have no other Famicom/NES consoles to verify it isn't the console).

What are your symptoms and do normal carts work?

Symptoms are in the original post - the two micro sd cards that don't work boot to an error screen that takes no input with error codes 44 or 42 depending on the micro sd card (it's always the same for the same micro sd).
There is one that works completely fine as far as I can tell (the apacer 16gb one), and I've confirmed that the two that *don't* work work fine on other devices, including the other everdrives listed in in my post.
Proper famicom games work fine on the console too.
Is there more information that I can provide that would be useful to narrow down the problem?
