Save the current game (Mega CD)
« on: November 04, 2020, 12:17 PM »
Hello, I would like to know how to save a game in progress for mega CD games?

I don't understand how it works, I'm pretty new to all these subjects.

Can someone explain it to me clearly?

Thank you in advance.  :)

If you asking about save states/in-game menu it not supported for mega-cd. Only regular in-game saves works

No just for regular in-game saves, how it works ?

For example I finished the 1st level of Ecco the dolphin on mega cd, when I turn off the megadrive, I turn on again and i have no save.

I am pretty sure Ecco The Dolphin does not have ingame saves and uses a password system.

Oh indeed!
I have never had a mega cd before.

I had only tested Sonic CD and Ecco the Dolphin on mega CD.
For Ecco The Dolphin on mega CD I thought I saw that the backup was done automatically, but it is indeed a password!

And for Sonic CD you have to finish a whole world and not a single level, so everything is good!

Thanks for your answers!  :)

Ecco: Tides of Time CD is the only game of the two that has a save feature, although it's not necessarily what you would expect. It automatically saves a password for the last level you reached, so you need to actually go into the password screen to pick up where you left off.
