Everdrive Pro - Sega CD Game boots to Music Player
« on: January 21, 2021, 09:52 AM »
Hey all,

Loving the upgrade from my 5+ year-old everdrive-md to the new mega everdrive pro!

I just got everything setup (using exFAT/256kb settings after reading the other forum posts), and I was able to boot Dennin Aleste after loading into the CD-player menu by hitting the CD-rom button.  I'm using the Japanese version because I can't find a US bin/cue of Robo Aleste.  :/

Question is, will I have to load into the CD-player every time and then select the CD-ROM option to load the game, or can you load straight into the game? Not sure if this is a setup issue on my end, or something with how the Japanese Sega CD boots, inherently.

Thanks!

The bios from the first version of the Japanese Mega CD does not run the game directly, but passes through the CD player.
If you want that the game boot directly, like the Sega CD or the European Mega CD, you need to use the Japanese Mega CD 2 bios.
