In that case disabling all add-ons might work.

EverDrive GB / Re: Max Capacity MicroSD compatible?

That's a problem when our old SD cards breaks yes. I have hopes for a product in the future that allows "spoofing" SD and SDHC technology in the future for old legacy products.

This also makes me think about floppy disks. They are still in production today because there are old expensive machines that use them.

Ok you don't update the whole set. I would prefer to update all ROMs in a set unless I know exactly what ROMs has been changed and added, but it just takes too much time. Especially since I have flashcarts for almost all consoles I own.
The genre sorting is only for clean no-intro ROMs. I have a separate "hacks" folder for any patched ROMs.

FRAM is also much more expensive than SRAM, but it might be a good solution for any flashcart with an RTC.

So this is a Firefox problem? I personally would never want to touch Chrome or Edge if I could help it.

It might be faulty, contact Krikzz or the seller.

EverDrive GBA / Re: Moving from X5 to X5 mini - saves not loading?

There is an option for loading the SRAM file. Also just renaming it to the same as the ROM except the file extension will make it load automatically. Make sure the file extension is correct.

And the SRAM is flushed each time you load up a new gram different from the last one, no need to run Diagnostic.

Never mind emulation and simulation and their countless definitions.

I don't understand your definition of "software" as you like to count Game & Watch graphics to it. I guess because it's artistic work and copyrightable?

I call it hardware because I think of software as something that is stored as digital data (discrete values) while hardware is the physical side of the product. Vector files such as SVG is indeed digital data but the painted graphics on the bezel and glass as well as the liquid crystal segments are all of physical nature. The SVG files produced when "dumping" the graphics is an attempt to record that hardware in digital form.

What do you do if you get your hands on a newer no-intro set?

Sorting alphabetically is very problematic yes. It makes games hard to find and you don't remember what games you have been playing.

I sort games after genre which makes games very easy to find, and forces you to look up games that you have never tried before so that you know which genre to sort them under. I leave large unsorted folders for games I'm not familiar with or haven't had time to sort yet. Although I only have one copy of each ROM in a set it still takes forever to do, and updating the set is hell. Especially on systems with large game libraries.

I'm pretty sure that none of the 2 Animal Crossing translations ever worked okay. They are both incomplete and one has crashing bugs.
The original ROM should work on the X7, but it's in Japanese.

There's not much to consider as there is only one Everdrive available for PC Engine. Get the Turbo Everdrive v2 and the latest OS. Then get elmer's unofficial OS which you run like a normal ROM. It should fix initialization problems in some games.

It sounds like he is on EDGB but is using a very wasteful ROM organization method with multiple copies of the same romset many times over. It must take forever to keep up to date unless he is using some kind of automated process.

This is an NTSC game, are you playing on a PAL console? In that case you might want to get an NTSC NES or Famicom for playing NTSC games correctly on, and your TV must support NTSC. The reverse is even more true, PAL NES is required for playing PAL games correctly.

Ok I made an incorrect assumption.

Yes, Animal Forest is a good candidate. It has many differences with the two Gamecube versions of the game and it makes good use of the RTC.

The reason I think it's always active is because my EDGBA battery did run out after about 5 years or so, and I don't think I have ever loaded any RTC games on it, but I'm not 100% sure. All my other Everdrives without an RTC have yet to run out, even my EDGB which is several years older than the EDGBA.

A larger 3V battery would increase the battery life time but it might not fit in the holder or in the shell, especially not in the mini version.

Ok, I see where the confusion is.

I just meant that it's a piece of software that, on its own, simulates the results of the hardware and software that a G&W system consists of.
