I have a update about retrogen. And that is very strange.

I Have two retrogen one buyed in alliexpress, and one buyed officially in retrocables.

The retrogen that virtual racing boots and go to 2fps is the alliexpress. But today I have try it in the retrogen from retrocables and it only show   black screen in virtual racing.

But in theory the two carts are identical same revision pcb 1.7 same components.

They not have any sense.

Testing last version.In the retrogen,the sega logo good speed with glitches when enter the demo slowdown to 2fps. It acelerated in the mode select menu and back to 2fp+gllitches  when return  to the game except the laptime number it go in normal speed.



the columbus circle black screen as always because none of the two adpaters have the patch wire.

I have tested it with the retrogen. It sound, show a image glitched and go to 2pfs but it not freeze. :D

I cant' be sure but probably linking b11 with b26 should resolve it in the clones with tct 6801 As these tutorial.


I am ready to test it in my x7 and my retrogen  krizz if you want try it to view if it work linking the two signals Internally in the fpga if is possible.  And patch for the clones can be made.

I have also test it in the other adapter the columbus circle with tct-6803 unfortunly he only show black screen.
I tested Columbus Circle 16-bit Pocket HDMI Extension Conveter for MD
work fine with real VR racing cart with B11 to b26 mod
but with X7 i also get glitches too

And what about your speed?. My test are without any mod.  The second version show less glitches anyway 2fps.

Just to update the snes yellow adapter works with 1.16 

But have problems with the betas firmwares, same for retrogen, alliexpress variants pal/nstsc. Freezes etc..

The consoles in alliexpress with two wireless pad works ir the console uses ac adapter, but not works with the version that uses microusb as power supply

It appears not, but out there not are 1000 variations of noac, some use the same noac with different case.

The hamy c6 with ac  works.
The hamy with micro usb not.

I add the compatibility of the snes adapters:

Columbus circle nes/famicom snes adapters:

I tested the famicom with the n8 and black screen,not light in the everdrive.
I tested the nes  with the n8+retrotoad 72 pin-60 pin adapter, and same, black screen.

Retroport+yellow 60 pins sold in alliexpress.

Same test method, it boot in the two, but is unestable, games can freezee at any time, for example super mario bros freeze in the first subterranean level, or indiana jones temple of doom freeze when you start the game.

So  unfortunly not appear a clone is compatible with everdrive in the snes.

Yeah, it appears drop the link connection the gb boy have. Buy its a little great option to complement the super game boy.

As the only two options are the game cube player(expensive)

And the super retro advance not loger manufactured.

Probably the same thing that made a lot of commpanys alot the age, the board is the same. The difference is less ics implemented in the x3. Less ics=more cheap.

Because is the same bug. ;D

The programmers of the game have redirected all interruptions at the same direction(where is normal code).And not appear use it. Then he initializate all registers of the vdp in a little bucle. And turn on the infamous external interrupt.

So to no touch the bucle and alterate the vpd initialization. I have change the direction of the external interrupt to a safe place. (to the international name of the game in the header rom free space).

Then i add a return from exception there.So he jumps,do nothing and return from external interrupt.

Tell me if it works o.k.

 If more games exist with black screen a cause of these bug.  I think this last code are universal to fix it. Because  the external interrupt are always in rom header in & 68. And in the same manner the international name in rom are always in the same zone of  the  header cartridge. The worst can do is destroy a very long name.

Or. We can move it and change to notes section of the header....

Edit;change it to the end of the notes:(01ee).Tested in eccos and spiderman:

O,k!. So i have resolve  the mystery of black screen of death in the ecco 2&3 in the retrogen (tct-6801).

There is a mistake of  a bug?(in the goac, and error in the programmers?).

We have:

1.ecco2 beta version:External interrupt subrutine activated in the  normal interrupt exception subrutine of the game.
-When external subrutine was activated they call to a &FFFFFFFA (in ram),where there is only a return from exception code((RTE)=4e 73). 

2.ecco 2 or 3 usa and japanese version. Same exception subrutine that the beta. But...... They have nothing! in the &FFFFFFFA son when external interrupt is called=death XD.

3.ecco 2 pal. Something do think hey, this code do nothing so best we remove it(and he remove the activation of the external interrupt from the code of normal exception code  wtf).

           
So the goac of the retrogen appears (for some obscure reason),When the external interrupt is activated and the game return from the normal exception interrpt think he recieved a external exception  so:

1. He works,because he go,do nothing and return from external interrupt.
2. Black screen of death,he go to the external interrupt(where is nothing wtf) and he lost in time(black screen) XD.
3. External interrrupt was desactivated, so is never generated, and the game works.

Solution?:Eliminate from the face of earth the line that send the command to activate the external interrup to the vdp(that do nothing in the game).

Well, about the issues.(type sd card, not te retroport). I think the cause can be variations on the type of ics used in motherboard.

I explain why i tell these. I have varius nevir nvr-vi (old famiclone with tipically umc chips). All are exactly equal in the pcb except one.  These can run alliexpress cartridges that the other can do. And at the same time these can have errors in the n8. Where the others run it as a solid rock.

And the only diference was a AHCT latch in one and a ls equivalent in the others.

Hi have tested the n8 with the last beta firmware in the retroport. (not sure someone have tested it).

I use the retrotoad adaptor 60-72 pins converter. It boot, but i have strange issues with for example  In the new zeland history ( the screen begin flickering changing colours and then crash) or jurassic park for example where floor change between two colours after x time.

As i have these games in the multi cartriges ii have tested it and work fine. So very strange issue.
