EverDrive 64 / Re: Odd behavior with save_db.txt (ED64 V3)
« on: May 08, 2021, 01:23 PM »
What is the roms ID and CRC High? I will check the db later.

Also, the 2.x OS does not recognise the second parameter like the new os (which sets region and rtc), so wondering if you have it on any of your entries.

Its likely the TV, it works fine on my PAL console on my CRT TV but not on my HDTV, NTSC games on a pal system are hit and miss with newer TVs.

It also works fine on my PAL console and PAL TV (plasma), which has problems with most NTSC games.

I am wondering if he has the save type set...

Sorry, not trying to be rude... just stating the facts (and rather more pissed than I thought)...

Because you are using an emulated gameboy on an N64... which is more of an issue to emulate then you think?!

Either way, Please can you check that (and comment on this patch concerning) shifting sand land no longer freezes when riding on a shell and hitting the top of 4th pillar...

If this is a fix, I will update the main download link (so please let me know!).

If you can, I would recommend using this version... (or at least add the bits needed and recompile).

I also wonder if you are missing the .net framework needed for the program to run...

Or buu's new unf loader:

EverDrive 64 / Re: New firmware Menu Quality
« on: March 05, 2021, 03:19 AM »
The option for that and a number of other options for general users were removed.... if you found no issues with the previous firmware, then stick with that (or mine (if V3)).

I would suggest raising the issue with krikzz (easiest on Twitter). I am guessing that there was never any testing on an MPAL console, and something is amiss with the boot simulation  for that region...

I think "DP=5" would be more useful to add to save_db than "0x906C3F77=5", since it would work with any future hacks while the CRC only works with the current cracked rom.

But since Dinosaur Planet wasn't released, it's possible that the "DP" was reused by a later game, and would cause a conflict if it doesn't use FLASH. Probably not though, since Dinosaur Planet was a very late game and it seems it already got its game code from Nintendo.

'DP' is already "officially" allocated to Donkey Kong kiosk demo ROM (EEP16k) - including in the internal save database. So technically using the CRC values would be the correct way to go (although entering "DP=50" in the save_db does work, because it overrides the internal database, and and if not using the DK demo, then would not be an issue...

Really ROM hacks should change the cart ID to something unique, and go from there. The question would be, whether the cracked DinoP rom already had this ID, or if it was added when cracked.

Anybody patched the actual rom instead of using the everdrive to patch? I can't seem to get it to patch and work properly. Wondering if I have the wrong source rom for the US version. Anybody know the proper CRC32 for the proper source rom?

It requires the same baserom set as used by the decomp: sha1: 8a20a5c83d6ceb0f0506cfc9fa20d8f438cafe51 sha1: 9bef1128717f958171a4afac3ed78ee2bb4e86ce sha1: 4ac5721683d0e0b6bbb561b58a71740845dceea9 sha1: 3f319ae697533a255a1003d09202379d78d5a2e0

EverDrive 64 / Re: Translation: Shindou edition games
« on: February 23, 2021, 05:45 PM »
Mario 64 shindou in english does exists, finally !

However, good luck getting your hand on a rev C shindou edition. I only have a A version, and I've been looking for a rev C everywhere and couldn't even find it. Only a website listed that it does exist.
Would love some help in PM if you have any info about that rev.

I am guessing you have not seen:

I think you are on the wrong forum for that... the majority of the community here are just users, and those that do know how to circumvent such things are unlikely to make it public.

What you have failed to say in your question is why you want to break it... and TBH the question first asked was not as clear as you think, as on first glance, I also thought you were saying there was an issue with the ED64 loading the ROM.

@cell I would strongly suggest you remove the link from your first post. It is against the rules to post... mainly because it invites takedown notices for the whole site!

Try my sm64 ultimate patch. It will show the rumble logo on the mario head screen.
