wouldn't you count the EDGB as X3? it does not really seem to have any advanced features to me, it lacks RTC, special sensors (tilt for example). You really can't get more "basic" than that, imho.

Example:
EDGB with RTC would be EDGB-X7
(but will make price go up to over $100, people will complain about)

Example:
EDGB-X3 would not have save battery or cheaper FPGA
(remove save battery does save cost)

X3 series is lo-end made for people can not afford to pay $100 (X5 series) with starting point price is $50
(to compete with clone flash cart)

Mega-X3 is only cart is announced as of now for X3 series
(ED-MD V3 will be renamed to Mega-X5 and Mega-ED V2 will be renamed to Mega-X7)

I remember a thread where Krikzz was asking for suggestions & discussion re: naming conventions for a entry/mid/premium product range. Don't remember seeing anything about it since, until the GBA Everdrive reveal with the "X5" branding. Guess its a reality.

The X series thing is pretty confusing to me.

X3 - cheap model with basic functions (like the cheap variant of the EverDrive MD that is coming later this year)
X5 - regular model with some extras (like the EverDrive MD)
X7 - best version with most functions (like the Mega EverDrive)

its not rocket science...

This is a weird way to organize them, though I see why krikzz would do this, perhaps we could eventually get an Everdrive GB X7 with RTC. Though that's up to him, all I know is that I will always be buying X7's if possible as I like the luxury of having the best and having all the features.

Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble has a tilt sensor.  I don't recall any others that have it.  There's also a couple games with light sensors called Golden Sun 1 and 2 I think.  I'm not really sure how feasable it would be to put a tilt sensor on a flash cart.  I doubt it would ever happen though.  I think there was a patch for Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble so it doesn't require the original tilt sensor hardware.

Yeah GBC X7 just needs RTC.  It's cool that Krikzz made the X5.  I own an M3 which uses a CF card and I think it has RTC built in too but those are very scarce now.

I'm hoping for a NGPC X5.  I'll buy it.
