Games that use the Controller Pak for saves will still use the controller pack for their saves, though. Games that use a battery will save to the SD card but I believe you need to press RESET after you're done playing to get the save file to stick (that's when it actually writes it to the card).

Got a new 8gig card loaded and ready for my ed64.

Next step is to go at the store get some paint with vinyl coating. (for the cart).
Got to buy a Drill bit Disk to make the opening for Sd card on the N64 cart i got here.

But i am still waiting for the Tool from ebay to actualy open the cartridge !!!!

I love little projects like this :)

i will post pictures of my project if you guys would like to see. I will post Final version of my Cart Fully custom made.

I am still thinking of the design i will use for the Stickers on the front and back of cart... Any suggestions ?

I got my ED64 Board in the Mail today Yayy !!!

I can`t seem to find proper wallpapers for it tho. I have been looking there is a wallpaper pack. But i get send to broken Links :(

I have been messing around with Paint.Net to save wallpapers in .bmp format with 640x480 Res and i got no luck getting them to work on the ED64....

Maybe u guys have a Link for the wallpapers ?

Like i said i got my ED64 and just notice this little red LED lights that shows the ED64 loading roms.

Maybe i will drill a tinny hole on the front of the cart in front of that little LED and put a Acrylic button in there to expose that little light.

What do you think is it too much ? or it could be a nice add-on ? :)

You've gotta make your own wallpapers. They've gotta be 8-bit BMP files at 640x480, I believe.  BMP format kind of sucks. Wish it was TIFF or PNG instead. But N64 is probably not powerful enough to handle a TIFF or PNG.

So here is my First quick test, i did alot of tweaking inside the cart...I will show some more pics when it is totally done.

For now enjoy this test version of the cart i am doing.

-Andrew

(Edit)

I took this picture while loading a rom.
And i did not solder anything on the board.
The light looks bright cuz i have installed a little Acrylic button in the hole i drilled up in front of the light on the board.

PS: i took the acrylic button off my old computer. The one for the Floppy disk.

Here are some close-ups of the cart. Keep it mind its nor perfect, the work is only 25% done on it.
Still have the paint, stickers, adjustments etc etc.

And what sort of diagnostics that N64 test cart would do ?
PS: my cart looks way better then that test cart :P :P :P
