FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: Save state firmware placement question
« on: October 06, 2021, 02:07 AM »
The zip archive that you download from there contains a folder called "sd2snes". Extract that folder to the root of your SD card. That's essentially the system folder, where the firmware and BIOS files are located, along with saves, save states, cheats etc.

Mega EverDrive / Re: Demons of Asteborg on Mega Everdrive X7 ?

the game is x7 compatible because one of the developers said that, on sega16 forum.

Yes, but it can't save. The game is playable, not fully compatible.

yes because now he want to sell the pro version that supports it, who cares of the milions of people that have mega everdrive 2 and x7 that costed 170$ to buy it. Its ended the period where krikkz firmware updates where always fast, and edn8? forgotted to, last fw is a beta...

Millions, haha. Definitely not, but it is for sure, one of the reasons why I haven't bought any of Krikzz's products since the GBA Everdrive, and never will again. He's getting lazy and greedy. I find Terraonion products to be of a higher standard, anyway.

full game working fine here but can't save. even if the demo gameplay play prompt a pirate message...isn't the game programmed to be compatible with mega x7?  so why a fucking pirate message?

It's not supported on the X7 and Krikzz has essentially said he has no intention of updating them to be compatible, which you have already found out.

It might be worth checking that the in-game hooks are disabled etc.

If you're using the latest beta firmware I know there was a Super FX bug introduced somewhere that might have be having an effect. If so, use the last official non-beta firmware and see if it's happening there, as well.

Some of the cart slot pins might not be making a consistent connection with the cart. If you can see any that might look like they're bent inwards a little more than they should, you can try bending them back out gently and carefully.

You would be better off asking this in the FXPak section of the Classic Gaming Discord server. ikari hasn't been here since the 1st of July.

A bit odd, indeed. Your first two options should be fine, although a dedicated folder on the root for ROMs is recommended as per your second option. Don't put any game ROMs inside the SD2SNES folder. Only the firmware, the BIOS files and whatever files and folders the SD2SNES itself creates should be in there.

Make sure the pins in your cartridge slot are clean. Try another SNES if you can, and try other power supplies if you can. The SD2SNES/FXPak draws more power than what some ageing OEM PSU's can supply.

not so serious piracy

It's more serious than the average person using Google-Fu to find ROMs. Selling loaded SD cards that contain copyrighted material is undoubtedly illegal.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: Quick question about firmware
« on: September 01, 2021, 06:12 PM »
No that's a beta firmware that was before the current official beta release. All of FURiOUS's save state work and redacted173's Super Game Boy has been merged into the official branch now.

This is the latest official beta:

He is aware.

Go to the Classic Gaming Discord server and search in the fxpak channels for the reports. He is more active there.

ikari is aware of Star Fox 2 crashing, and it's probably a bug in the Super FX core somewhere. There'll be a new beta out soon.

Off Topic / Re: SD card computer issue
« on: August 27, 2021, 05:12 PM »
The file table has been corrupted, somehow. Have you tried to run a chkdsk on the PC that recognises the card? You might need to try some recovery software if that fails.

The main lesson here though is... always have a backup.

Yes, I want to play the sets of all three regions (JP, US, PAL), and I also want to make use of hacks, translations, prototypes and unlicensed games, MSU1 games etc. (by the way thank you for the MSU1 hacks in your signature, I will definitely get these :)

Bearing in mind that my signature contains only the audio packs for the hacks I contributed to. You'll still need the patches. They can all be found at along with the other hacks I didn't work on.

So yes, I think I should just get a 64GB card to make sure I can fit everything on one card. May I ask which one exactly you would recommend from if it comes to this size?

Something like this:
