Which Pin exactly?

According to check for "SNES Cartridge Slot Pinouts" there's 1 pin (the MCK of 21Mhz) that is only used by SGB1 and MarioChip1 (this is earlier StarFox releases not sure if the FxPak/Pro uses it at all for "SuperFX" games).

Worth testing if those games work (note that SGB1 using the MCK is actually slightly too fast [on real SGB1] and usually it's better to use an on-board generated clock like the SGB2 does [there's actually a mod for SGB1 to achieve that], I am not sure what the FxPak/Pro does wrt clock for SGB so that may just work no matter what).

Would OS for 3.04 also support the older ED64 V2?
I heard the difference between v2.5 and the older v2 is minimal so it could work but you never know.

I have a few questions about the Mega CD core.

1) Will bin+iso+wav and bin+iso+mp3 dumps work, or does it have to be a single bin+cue?
2) What is the naming convention for multi-disc games?

Manual here:

Not sure it's the same Terraonion we are talking about.

Some of their products are good some were rushed and caused a lot of drama.
Maybe they have learnt and the last wave of products is finally stable with no weirdness at launch.

Wrt to MegaED Pro I expect all of the features of X7 + MegaCD support ... what degree of compat I do not know ... and we'll see how it goes. To be sure Sega is the platform of preference for Krikzz (he said so himself many years ago) so we may see fixes coming relatively quickly.
If the final price is right I'm in (I heard 199US$ but we'll see how resellers would fare it) ... I bought MegaED v1, v2 (X7) and I see myself getting the Pro ... I still have both my v1 and v2 around as I have more than one MD/Genesis, so I kept the old v1 too (I don't actually need SVP, SMS FM support ... as for that I have v2 plus original VR and original JP SMS .... I am set one way or another, but I do like that krikzz closed the gap).

I own both a Mega/SegaCD 1 and Mega/SegaCD2 (for my MD1 and MD2) but they are getting old, temperamental and may as well put them under moth balls.

I was in no hurry for the MegaSD so this announcement of Mega ED Pro is welcome  ... and I like the spartan char only menu ... reminds me of CLI/terminal ;-)

Even if the NES only runs 50% of the games it is a tremendous gift.

AND the fact that Krikzz ported it to the Mega ED Pro opens up the possibilities for other cores.
He can write/port one for SG-1000/SC-3000 and potentially an approximate one (if it fits) for Game Gear (Sega MageDrive = 512 color palette, Sage Game Gear = 4096). If the GG fits for sure the SMS one can too (just to get that 3 games that use the legacy mode .... just kidding here, and GG too).
ColecoVision and MSX are in the same ballpark as SG1000 to be fair.

Note that controllers and video are still on the Genny, so there are limits but I can see a few other 8bits systems potentially be portable, even better if Krikzz releases an SDK for other people to write/port new cores

It's quite a unique capability in a way ... well done.

holy cwap, even an NES emulator .....
Krikzz is that your own NES core running on the FPGA?

The V1 Master EverDrive has a rescue OS installed so you can try to unbrick yourself:

basically start the Master System with the MasterED pressing Up+1+2 (have a SD card ready with the other OSs )

Depending on how old the rescue OS is you may need a small SD card formatted as FAT16 ( FAT32-only support was added in v7 check ).

So I remember that going from FAT16 to FAT32-only version was ... tricky .. can't remember if upon successful flash you get a "bad SD" error or alike, at any rate you need to reformat the SD card (or use a different one) after that.

Krikzz never said if it was possible to flash  the rescue OS itself with a FAT32 only version (like V7 or above) ... pity because it makes it a little more complex to pass that hump in case of bricking.

You said you were on v4 so chances are your rescue OS is v4 or older ... so you may have to go thru an intermediary hop first ... try to go to v5 then v7 ... from there on out you need a FAT32 SD card .... and then v9!

If you brick it again once you are in V7 or higher you need to go back to a FAT16 formatted card (small card, up to 1GB usually work best for this) given the rescue OS stays whatever you have now.

EverDrive N8 / Re: N8 v1.20 official is out
« on: January 14, 2020, 06:46 AM »

Once I realized that the N8 (non-pro) is only supported up to 1.20, I then soon learned you can copy the 1.23 mappers and MAPROUT.bin and just use the 1.20 OS. Wonder how long you can do this for... Seem pretty stable still some occasional errors in menu.

Wrong, if the BIOS comes from here
then it's for the old N8 and 1.23 is right there.
It is possible that on your console/N8 combination 1.23 has issues so a hybrid 1.20 + selected files from 1.23 is better for you, but in general it may not work that well for others.

Did you hear that it now includes support for Virtua Racing? SVP chip?

Likely they just used opensource SVP core which were released recently by Sergey Dvodnenko aka srg320. This core will be used for mega-ed as well

yup, in a post they stated they licensed the SVP core from srg320 ... I believe the core is GPLv3 so the open source part cannot just be used like that (GPLv3 is pretty sticky)

I find it amusing that after all the deserved noise about there not being updates, this one update has not been thoroughly tested by the most vocal members to tell the rest of us what has been fixed/broken.

Did people just lose interest?

Off Topic / Re: New Mega Everdrive X7 revision!!
« on: July 02, 2019, 03:46 AM »
Well find out once it is released.

What's the matter with you people? Even Krikzz stated that competition will spur him to make an even better product, it's all good.

And what's the rush anyway? if you NEED it right away buy it, if you do not NEED it wait a little for it to go into consumer hands and take it from there ... it's that easy.

The market is big enough, if not then only one offering will survive and it'll make us deciding even easier!

Time will tell, patience is a virtue, a lot of people have pre-ordered it so it won't be long after they start shipping (mid Aug I think) for the reviews to come in ... if you are in doubt wait for those at least.
If you can wait for Krikzz then up to you ... I have a real MegaCD for now and some (not too many) "backups" and I am perfectly fine for the time being.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: SD2SNES Pro w/ Super NT Issue Help
« on: June 27, 2019, 07:33 AM »
The SD2SNES creates a database of the files it found directly on the SD card to speed up access on successive start up (as a cache).
I wonder if such file is getting "corrupted" in your case and that's the cause of the issue.
