Title: Would like to update my firmware for my Everdrive-MD V2
Post by: sainrub on November 27, 2019, 03:09 AM
Hello,

I've had this Everdrive-MD V2 (aint she a beauty? :) ) and would like to update my firmware to enable SEGA CD Bios Loading. I am needing firmware v8 or higher to enable. I have my JTAG connector and programmer all ready to go.

Thank you Krikzz, picked up my Master Everdrive X7 recently and I love it. Thanks for all the work you do spanning all these years.

Bad news i'm afraid - according to the firmware changelog REV 2.0 can't support Sega-CD BIOS loading, only REV 2.1 onwards can:-

Your welcome. Just so you know, I think you can still update the firmware to v12 (The last firmware released) its just you wont gain Sega-CD BIOS loading. I think the main/only benefit with later firmwares was better compatibility with clone consoles and the Genesis 3.
...Or just keep it on its stock firmware since its a nice piece of EverDrive history :)
