I can't get it to work either.

Maybe this works:

EverDrive N8 / Re: How the heck do you use the NSF player!?!

Do you have any NSF files to play?
I don't have the Pro so I can't help. Try googling.

Definitely use redump or other 1:1 dump of the disc. Even if it's ISO+WAV (instead of ISO+MP3 which is no good) you can't be sure it's a perfect dump unless you check it against a known good harsh or checksum.
Final Fight CD in redump's data base is here:

The GBPlayer is mainly for GBA games. It's also nice for GBC games since the SGB doesn't have a GBC mode.

Everdrive isn't just a pirate mapper though.

The cleanest solution might be to simply get an NTSC system as well. Either Japanese or NA depending on which you can get the cheapest. Japanese models are easier to make region free due to the wider cart slot and removable cart lock mechanism.

Mine worked both with the official Start-Up Disc (the physical disc not ISO) and with GBI. It was many years ago I played it, so I haven't tried the latest version of GBI.

Well then you are wrong. There was a power issue with the Pocket model on earlier Everdrives.
Everdrives didn't exist back then and are very hard to detect. It would just end up blocking normal carts as well.

I have the normal X5 not the mini and it works with the GBPlayer. I think the mini should work too or there is something wrong with your Everdrive.

I would guess that there is a problem with this particular hack. Especially if similar things doesn't happen with clean Pokemon for you.

There's no piracy protection that is able to detect and prevent an Everdrive.
GBPocket is known to have power problems with earlier Everdrives, but I thought the X-series had fixed it. AGS-101 also has a better screen so it may also use too much power for the Everdrive. You may want to try to use better batteries or an AC adapter. And try the Everdrive on any other Gameboy model if possible.

I think you can launch disc images from anywhere using Swiss. Make an ISO folder on the SD card and copy your disc images to it. Then select the game you want to boot in Swiss.

Backup your saves and roms and install a fresh firmware on the SD card. If it doesn't work, reformat the card and try again with a fresh install.

Good to hear that you don't make up a new story to avoid having to deal with natto like many official localizations do. We are long past the time when onigiri had to be pretended to be hamburgers or jelly filled donuts. Many people are aware of Japanese cuisine now and with the internet it's easy to learn about it if you don't. Natto is one of the more famous Japanese foods anyway. Oh and I also love natto!

You bought yours after the name change that's why it says FXPAK. They changed it mostly for legal reasons. The official homepage and github page still says SD2SNES too. I'll bet that if you open your case it still says SD2SNES on the PCB.
