Very nice.

Does the NES shell come provided?

If so, will there be an option to buy the board without the shell?
If not, will it work with any 3 or 5 screw official Nintendo cart?

By the way, adapter already has wire for expansion sound, so, extra modification of adapter is not need. Extra resistor inside of nes still required for expansion sound

Why would you want to put it in one of those things? Those are not good for the pins in the console.

It'll pretty much act as one of those Honeybee converters; instead of a NES cart, you'll have the Fami cart at the end of it, allowing you to push the cartridge cradle down in an FL NES.

The reason the Game Genie was bad for the cart connector was because of the thicker PCB used in them. They were thicker than the standard NES cart so the connector pins could touch the connectors on the Game Genie PCB. This is why you couldn't use a Game Genie on a TL NES without a special "converter".

KRIKzz. What are the dimensions of this converter? I'd like to see if this could fit in a Game Genie shell or a Honeybee converter shell.

my n8 is already housed in a salamander shell i dont wanna take it out, with a plug through it will be easier getting it in and out of a nes

Lol. You're going to have like a 10 foot adapter sticking out of your NES, aren't you?

Excelent Work! but Why is not Blue?

If you build a 72-60 pins adapter, you´ll  be god.

Those are already available pretty affordably, as they don't require any components whatsoever.

Krikzz you are the man!  Any possibility you can offer one with a case that lets you plug it in outside of a regular nes case like a stand alone adapter?

You're right, but in my country are hard to get and are not "new"  :-\

You can use pcb without the shell, it this case you can plug regular famicom cart. Adapter with famicom cart fits in nes, but you should be adroit enough to take out adapter with cart back from the nes

and not to mention that most of them are incompatible with either the Twin Famicom or AV Famicom, which is what most hardcore Famicom Gamers have.

Hi,

Strangely enough, my Famicom Zelda 1 had to be inserted backward in the adaptater to work, ie. famicom "backside" instead of "frontside" as indicated. Is that normal?

I'll send pictures if needed.

IC on the back side(back side of famicom cart on the photo). What is wrong?

Second picture is wrong (_DSC0050.jpg). N8-fami has IC on front side, but almost all regular famicom carts has ic on back side

Bumping this old thread for a question.

Has anyone used this on a Top Loader with a NESRGB kit installed?

I have an NTSC one with the expansion audio mod done to it and was wondering if this adapter will be fine using original FC carts?

+1 on this.

Especially one that has expansion sound pins and MMC5 pins (pins 57 and 58 on the NES side) connected correctly.

I just got my adapter and none of my famicom games, nor my n8 fit! The pcb is hitting the cart shells.

What do I do??

Is this adaptor purely used for canabalizig a NES cart?

the adapter can be used as generic cart adapter with modification. You 1st need to cut the wings off with a rotary cutting tool. Then find a donor shell and cut the top off such that the fc slot is exposed. The pcb may fit loose without the screw mounts. If so, glue the connector to one side of the shell. It is also wize to glue a piece of ribbon to the shell for easy removal. Secure the two bottom scews to the shell and the adapter is complete.

Thanks StarDust4Ever,
I tried using a donor NES cart and just sticking my famicom n8 and the adaptor in. It doesn't fit perfectly because there is a gray plastic stump protruding from the inside of the front cart shell piece. Is it ok to clip that?
