Save high scores in Game boy Tetris???
« on: August 05, 2015, 02:56 AM »
I was curious if anyone had created a hack of Game Boy Tetris to save the high score tables to SRAM. I've been playing on a DMG that I installed a backlight mod to, and it would be nice if "Tetris (World) (Rev A).gb" could be modified to save the high score table.

I found this thread where someone started work on it but it appears work on the save hack has been abandoned.

Everyone just says "use emulator save states" which atm is not possible on GB Everdrive. It would be cool to track my best scores in SRAM instead of trying to photograph the screen. Thanks...

I was wondering the same thing as several games like that never had sram save take for example Pac-Man Special color edition with it's fantastic tetris based pac-attack. As soon as you power off your stats go poof even on the official cart as the game never had sram saves.
Chaos reigns within - Reflect, repent and reboot - Order shall return

I dont think theres a finished hack. But what about using Tetris DX? That one saves high scores and a cheat code allows you to enjoy the famous Tetris tune as well.

Care to share this code? Is it for Shark or Genie? ;D

Tetris DX was my fav game for Game Boy Color bitd and my first real exposure to tetris (I had GBC before I started retrocollecting NES) but last year I hit level 30 for the first time and discovered I could play forever. Also fun fact Tetris DX gets crappy rocket when played on DMG... ::)

this contains a few game genie codes to get various music pieces :-)

edit: here is a hack that will permanently replace the a-type music. http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2314/
